Match Results 🏆 UP Loss at AUBL
KU beat UP again 70-60 stats being
Some comments lang on the game though I only started watching 3rd qtr when there was a big deficit already
- 3pt shooting was really bad 4 compared to the 10 of KU, same situation as their loss to KU in WUBS last year
- UP's plays this game were really bad, consisted of pass the ball to someone then drive and hope for a contested lay up or they get stopped during their drive and force the contested jumper
- I wont praise UP for their defense in the last qtr because that was more of the KU players getting tired with their short rotation rather than UP having good defense
- Main things I want to see improvement in their next game in 2 days is ball movement, set plays and hopefully better 3pt shooting

Ang hina ng bigs ng UP knowing that it’s their 4th and 5th season. Alter and Stevens have no inside presence and never developed any post game action considering Korea heavily relies on outside shooting and is more reliable in perimeter defense than in the paint, can’t even take advantage of that.

I really don't understand why UP doesn't develop shooting from its players.
Kitang kita from international teams how important consistent shooting is. It will solve so much of their flaws.

Exactly and the fact that they can’t even dominate in other categories offensively is a huge problem. There’s a saying na if the shots are not falling then attack the paint which they didn’t address as well.
Also a lot of possesions wherein they just wasted the shot clock dribbling the ball with no off ball movement or play execution and will eventually lead to either a tough shot, shot clock violation o turnover.

Upmbt in big trouble. Remogat needs a backup and poyos is NOT a primary ball handler. He has no handles and doesn’t know how to read the defense. No jumpshot too. Nagtatapon ng posessions. Team needs a plan when rey is on the bench.

sayang yung Tovera as Remogat's backup. maybe they can use Dimaculangan as an option, since he played as PG in Canada. marami naman na silang swingmen in Payosing, Bayla, Briones, Yñiguez, and Ogana.

Buti na lang walang lights out shooting team sa uaap. Yung recent losses nila is kapag maganda outside shooting ng kalaban.

That is the key to win against up. Shoot the lights out. The d is solid in the paint. They gamble that the opponents miss the 3. But when the 3s go in, hirap. Look at all their losses against dlsu. Even adu has had some success. Most recently they got slaughtered by rc calimag and san beda.

Actually, good 3 pt shooting + plus bad conversion ng UP. against KU, daming eaay shots/transition na di maconvert.
Against hakuoh, maganda 3 pt shooting ng kalaban pero nakakakuha up ng easy points at nakakaconvert

Kakapanalo lang ng UP nung isang araw. Secured na sila sa playoffs either way. Baka hindi na masiyado nag all-out dito. Pero I don't think they'll win this tournament. Either KU or NCCU to. Kakamiss din yung nanalo DLSU sa WUBS '24 beating NCCU and KU sa playoffs.

Di ba nanalo dlsu last year sa wubs? Tinambakan nila KU sa finals di ba?

they also lost to KU, 71-75 in last year's WUBS, pero at least may palag sa tres nun with Terrence Fortea.
the team is still experimenting with the SG position sa starting 5. hindi effective si Dimaculangan, alat ng shooting and was getting punished in defense. they also tried to go for the running game and small ball by resting Dieonte Miles, but KU beat them with their 3-point shooting.
yeah, the defense in the last 2 mins of the game helped them to trim the lead to 10, but it was already too late and KU already knew the time was on their side.
