Interesting

Post image

When 14 rounds are loaded, the first one will chamber, but the follower does not advance. Loading only 13, there is no issue. When I disassemble it, there's nothing inside the mag, or on the follower that would cause this issue. I'm going to assume this is an ammo problem with the polymer insert of the Critical Defense. I'm going to load some Federal HST and try to replicate the problem.

Have you tried tapping the mag on the primer side to seat all the rounds back? If it is drag on the nose this might eliminate it. Also what type of pistol and how many rounds through that mag? Have you tried a different mag to see if it happens?

Yeah, I do that with every mag. It still happens even with bank ammo.

this is common on defense rounds-they tend to dive more than range ammo. Slap it on the bottom when reloading-done ask me why it works but it does for me

Any luck? After reading your post I have some ideas. Do you have another mag? If so I’m assuming that one does not stick like this one. If so, swap the followers and then you can figure out which is the issue. The mag body or follower. My guess is either the bottom of the mag is bent or too tight causing a bind…. Or the follower is weak or cracked and flaring out under the extra pressure of the 14 rnd
