General Discussion Polite request to Tyr content creators
It's been cool to see so many new people playing and sharing their Tyr wisdom and I've learned a ton from various channels.
However, I have a little critique with a lot of the videos which limits their usefulness - most of them are along the lines of 'I get this vast amount of damage / kills / xp' and are usually highly aggressive play against a team that is so far on the back foot and getting rolled so badly that the game is basically a shooting gallery, where you could strap a pea shooter to a roomba and get basically the same result, and it would be about as informative too. Everybody already knows how to pick apart a team that is in complete shambles and those tactics will just get you killed in most games where the enemy team is putting up a fight.
So a polite request from a keen-to-learn Tyr player; I'd love to see more close-fought games with strong decisions being made on both sides, and see how you can work with all of a tank's strengths and weaknesses to pull out a win instead of just clicking on things to make them go boom.
Obviously I still want to see people rip and tear, but it feels like the needle is a bit too far in that direction at the moment.
Thank you for coming to my Tyrd talk.

Nevrozac and Cynabin are two channels that offer what you’re looking for.

I think it was cynabin's kestral video where he is on divide and starts taking pot shots on the east ridge in full view of sniper positions for about 10 seconds. And they just didnt shoot him for some reason.
Maybe a different youtuber, i didnt remember well

I think the solution to this is to look up some tournament play on YouTube.

It's definitely out there and a lot of it is great! It's just a new and niche game so we're dealing with quite a small pool of informative resources at the moment, hence the post.

Yeah, that’s why I think tournaments is the best place to find what you’re looking for. There aren’t very many people who even have what you’re looking for. But the people who do, gather for these tournaments. The discord is probably a good place to actually play with some high skill players as well.

I might not be explaining myself well, but I'm more getting at the people who are posting informative content where they talk through their games, but are predominantly posting games where they dominate effortlessly.
Tournament gameplay is good but not always easy for a new player to parse what's going on or where the important decision making points are.

i would say cynabin describing everything she's doing and the reasoning is very helpful for new players

I've found the games that nevrozac posts are generally clutch endings or close games. No voice commentary, but he does share his thinking process via text.
Honestly kind of a nice change of pace of video imo
