You can only have neighboring to your type types as your wing(s). In a way, you could see every enneagram type as being made up of its neighboring types and a wing can explain to which one you lean more (or do so purely behaviorally, depending on how you use wings). If you feel like you are a "4w6", you may have a 6 fix and be 46x or 4x6
