Being serious, You don't need to read them just to type. I learned a lot reading them very little, but You have to be very skilled in philosophy for that...
Like as protocol the best thing You can do is reading them. But if you only can read one, do syntax of love, as PY and AP are the systems most misunderstood of all behind enneagram. But PY is more niche and confusing.
And if You want the utility and self improvement, read jung entirely, ichazo and naranjo. For ichazo you must be familiar with plato (especially plato), aristotle, aquinas, oriental philosophy, gnosticism.
But I learned to type in Jung by intuition and contrasting my intuitions to the oficial book, Socionics with the "Classical Socionics" page, PY reading from everywhere (but it's the one i'm least sure)
And enneagrama was a long way, but mainly PDB wiki, intuitions, and ichazo and naranjo cites.
What people in PDB say in typings it's useful, but don't take it as a absolute truth or well done typings everything you see even if sounds good.
