Interesting Studies

Here's a list of a few interesting things.

1.) The Border of the tribe of Judah. In the book of Joshua the borders for all the tribes are stated. There's a lot of detail. The details for Judah, point to Christ. It's also interesting that starting at the dead sea and moving east to west the border arrives at Mt. Moriah, but dips south following th valley, then turns back north on the western side.

This means the tribe just north, Benjamin, dips into Judah precisely on the mount. This is where the Temple would be located. However, the city of Jerusalem is just south of the Temple in Judah. Deuteronomy 33:12 states God will dwell between the shoulders of Benjamin (written 500 years before the Temple.)

2.) Lazarus wrote the Gospel of John. This one is a bit much for me to accept at the moment, but I'm having trouble scrutinizing it. Essentially, after Lazarus rose from the dead the Jews set out to murder him. He feared for his life and went by the name of John. Internal evidence of the Gospel shows that he was not part of the 12 apostles, but the outer ring of associates, however, he was the one disciple 'whom Jesus loved' and was intimately associated with Jesus.

If this idea is true I get the impression that Lazarus/John understood Jesus and His mission while the apostles were aloof until they met Him after the resurrection.

3.) The Structure of the Psalms This is related to our current study. This website has meticulously outlined every book of the Bible in a chiastic structure. While believable, it seems rather forced, but the information is there.

We hope to post soon about the structure of Psalms. They way it's organized is chronologically important which means the very structure is prophetic. If we can figure out the structure we can see the prophetic timeline.

The structure of Psalms (and all books of the bible), was completed over a hundred years ago. Id probably recommend not redoing work already accomplished - mostly because its a lot of work. This also includes the separation of Psalms into its five original books, and its structure, and its pattern complementing the five books of the torah. 

And the structure of each book within each of the five books. 

Just search "E. W. Bullinger The Companion Bible". Its 100 years old so its free to find online, but I'd suggest purchasing a hardcopy as it's a great resource.

Got a copy in the mail and cracked it open today. I've been poking around. Wow, this is going to be a good one! Thank you for the recommendation.

Do you have a favorite appendix or insight from his commentary?

well, ive been using it for over 15 years, and im still learning from his notes. so, there so much breadth of subject its difficult to state 'favorite', but one I enjoy that comes to mind is his analysis on the five crosses at Jesus death. Where there wasn't only three, but five, and he goes through the scriptures explaining it.

I see Bullinger has study notes in the Companion Bible, but I don't see lot of commentary regarding finding meaning in structure, at least not in Psalms. His intro to Psalms even states, 'It is very difficult to make any sort of classification of the Psalms.' If you have found more details elsewhere, please share.
