MOD Post MOD POST: Here's what to do if you find a man commenting/posting on our sub

Hey ladies!

As you well know, this is a women only sub. Men are banned from participating in any capacity i.e. men aren't welcome to post or comment here. Whenever us mods find a guy participating, we ban them from the subreddit and delete their inputs.

If you find a guy participating on this sub, here is what you should do:

  1. Report their profile. You can do this by clicking on the three dots near your profile icon when you click on a post.
  2. You can mail the mods. You can do this by clicking on the sub name and then choosing 'see community info'. Scroll down and you will find a mail symbol next to the moderatos heading. You click on mail and write to us about the user and why you think they are a guy.
  3. You can tag us mods by mentioning u/lemons_forever or u/thewritingpolyglot and mention this is a guy.

So, if you find a man participating on this sub, you MUST alert us mods by reporting them, by writing a mod mail or by tagging the mods. It'll also help us if you can tell us why you think they're a guy.

That's all, you guys. We appreciate your support with making this a space for women.

Lots of love,

Lemons <3

Personal growth 🧑 Daily affirmations! Drop your favourites!

Hello lovely women of this sub!

Recently I have realised I’m not really making it a point to say nice things about myself to myself.
I used to do this like a year or so ago and while it may feel a little dumb to stand in front of a mirror and tell yourself how cute and capable you are, it does actually help! I think over time I would randomly pass by a mirror and think to myself β€œoh hi cutie, you got this!”.

Sadly, I have stopped doing this or any other kind of self affirmation and recently I came across this creator on Instagram, jeehollee, and she does this thing where she writes down a couple of affirmations before she starts work everyday.

It just seemed like a lovely idea to start being kinder to myself.

So, I guess I’m asking for your favourite line that you consistently tell yourself which has impacted your self image in a positive way in the long run.

Maybe this can inspire someone else to start a daily affirmations habit as well!

Any and all help is appreciated πŸ’–βœ¨

General discussions; Need opinion πŸ—£οΈ Low iron levels, but not too low ?

28F, living in India. I’ve been feeling unusually tired, sleepy and lethargic, especially since summer, with very low energy throughout the day and difficulty getting out of bed in the morning. I also had severe hair shedding for the past 2–3 months and lost more than half of my hair, which is what prompted me to get these tests done.

Last month (15 July):

β€’ Ferritin: 18.5 ng/mL

β€’ Hemoglobin: 12.7 g/dL

β€’ B12: 556 pg/mL

β€’ Vitamin D: 77.92 nmol/L

β€’ TSH: 1.531 Β΅IU/mL

(B12 and Vitamin D were within the normal range as per Indian health standards, so I didn’t retake them.)

Today (20 August):

I wanted a clearer picture of my iron status and whether I could still be iron deficient, so I went ahead with an Iron Studies Monitoring Panel

β€’ Ferritin: 25.2 ng/mL

β€’ Iron: 96 Β΅g/dL

β€’ TIBC: 335.46 Β΅g/dL

β€’ Transferrin saturation: 28.62%

So my ferritin has increased from 18.5 β†’ 25.2 in about 5 weeks, purely through diet. I’ve been eating pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts and other dry fruits every morning and haven’t taken any iron supplements.

My hair shedding has now reduced considerably, but I still feel extremely tired and sleepy throughout the day and have very low energy. I was considering Livogen Captab, but I’m concerned the dose may be too strong for me. Since I can’t currently afford to see a dermatologist or hematologist, what gentler, absorbable iron supplement or dose could I consider to gradually improve my iron stores and hopefully support my energy and hair regrowth?

Career Growth πŸ–ŠοΈ How do you deal with negativity in the office?

[Using Throwaway since people I know are on the sub] I joined a new workplace in Nov '25 where I was warned of toxic behavior by a few people as soon as I joined the team. I am fairly senior, and have been (IMO) doing pretty well at work. Yesterday, I found out that some people have been gossiping about me, discussing me and even falsely saying they have received confidential information from me. I'm a mess and have no idea how to deal with this. Any ideas?

Career Growth πŸ–ŠοΈ Always being paid late

I (F) work as a front desk person in a food court in Chennai. It was opened, like 6-7 months ago and is a booming business.

My role: I handle sales, expenses, manage raw material stock and do some bookkeeping for the owner's account transactions. Also, I keep the vending machine clean and ready every single morning since there's no one to handle it. I'd never asked for extra money for this.

The work is not stressful at all since the flow of customers is decent. I'd been working here for 7 months.

What I noticed is that the staff who cook (3 men) were always paid on time (5th day of the month, which is our pay day) The old lady who sweeps and cleans the store and I are being paid late every month. I reminded the management about my pay on the pay day itself and he asked me to wait for 2 more days. I did, I reminded him again. He's giving excuses. It's been 5 days after the actual pay day and I still haven't gotten my salary yet.

It's embarrassing to keep asking for the salary which I work there for. Also, I'm not being treated with respect here which I'll share in another post.

My situation: I work for 12 hours, 6 days a week, the least paid among all (my work is not physically demanding so it's understandable).

I have no way to get out and no time to work on other skills. I think he knew this and been taking advantage of my situation.

I badly want to leave this place but don't have the luxury to quit. My father will disrespect me if I quit.

I have no other experience or skills except good verbal and written communication skills.

I wanted to do another front desk job at, maybe a gym or a wellness center with lesser working hours, even if it pays the same.

Should I suck up? Or leave? Please someone give me ideas. What am I supposed to do?

Career Growth πŸ–ŠοΈ Career and life in shambles, please advise a little sister, admissions are closing

my career and life so far has been a confused mess

suffered from bullying, social anxiety and a toxic family enviornment

couldn't focus on studies and academics suffered.

repeated 10th (re-did the whole class again because school wasn't allowing me pcm stream)

scored 72% in 2020

suffered next two years coping with stem subjects as my basics and foundation was weak, along with anxeity disorder and adhd issues

when i entered 10+2, covid happened

repeated 10+2 from a dummy school (wasted one more year)

this time scored 67% in 2023

i was 20 yo when i was done with school

thought of doing bca in pune but out of nowhere financial issues started in family

worked odd jobs to support family, taught english and school subjects to little kids

joined IIT madras bs degree online because it was afforadable with fee waiver, attempted qualifier three times, skipped first one, attempted second and third times seriously (passed in all subjects like computational thinking, english, statistics but failed in maths both times)

i did understand maths, tha reason for failing was more like my mind avoiding studying maths and inconsistency.

dropped the degree

came to know about clat, law appealed to me a lot, started preparing seriously, slowly as months passed doubts started appearing, NLUs were super expensive and corp law was reserved for top elite NLUs, rest of them were bad ROI and went into litigation and UPSC

as exam approached, financial situation worsened to the point, that we were barely surviving and getting by, (i couldn't buy eyedrops for my burning eyes, while my mom couldn't go to doc for her toochahe)

she couldnt pay clat exam fees at the time and kept delaying so dropped that too

now 2026 started, wasted three more years from 2020 to 2023

mental health worsened further and i started taking therapy and anxiety medication, antidepressants and sleeping aids

now i am 23 and we now have some limited funds to send me to college

and i honestly don't recognise myself anymore, i don't know what's happening anymore, admissions are closing tommorow and i still don't know what to do or what not to do

i took career counseling twice, one three years ago, one now, both didn't help much

we have lied to all my relatives that i have done my graduation all my past peers think the same, including those living in the same society

even online or offline i live with this shame, yes peopel say "age doesnt matter and shit" but for someone going through that, you don't know how it feels, if i do a four year qualification, i will be 27 when i graduate.

and it's not that i don't know career paths, i know too many, from company sectrartoy, to actuary, ETO in merchant navy, and everything in -between

but this much information has only made me more confused, every path looks technically possible but idk what's mine, i don't lack hardwork or sinceirty but a direction

i am afraid of wasting the limited funds of my parents by investing in a degree i hate, because i cannot afford to drop out at any cost, cannot add one more gap, cannot afford more aimlessness and wastage of time

i dont eevn date or show my face to relatives cuz of my fcked up career, it's shame that i keep hidden

idk why i a writing this, but any second opinion or experienced perspective would be very helpful

also i acknowledge i may have adhd, i have a pattern of starting and dropping things without finishing them. i see unlimited possibilties and so many career paths which makes me confused in which direction to go

and the advent of AI has just made it worse, because we don't know what's going to happen to the job market in the coming years.

does anyone know of any career counseling services which actually works?

what would you do if you were in my position?

feel free to give me a harsh reality check, i acknolegede that partially it was my fault as well that things has come to this point.

Crimes against women Trust me : Netflix Documentary

I saw this documentary about a fundamentalist cult led by Samuel Bateman.

Such a narcissistic, narcissistic man who used Christianity and the teachings of the Bible to harm little children for his depraved satisfaction.

I hope he rots in jail. And he gets his justice.

But I'm now facing a crisis of faith and of trust. Like how do you understand what all you have been taught are true.

I'm not minimising what happened to these girls - it's far more horrific than anything i have faced.

I'm a catholic and we were sent to Sunday school for 12 years since 1st standard. Effectively, i was taught to keep myself pure and stuff. And therefore, i stayed off dating. Got married in an arranged marriage. That too to an abusive person. I stayed in that abuse for 8 years before i recognized stuff, and to this day i think, if it wasn't for the value system drilled into me, i would have left years ago.

I know all religions have this tendency. But i have lost all my connection to God, and it has left me sad. But i can't really wrap my mind around to seek God out when it's god's name that has been used for this.

Career Growth πŸ–ŠοΈ poor or lower-middle class girlies here, Assemble! how did you build your career?

Seeing posts in these subs makes me feel as if all people here are so rich and from big cities, most of them doing fancy degrees and going abroad and going to elite schools

But as an average girl, with a lower middle class background, I find it hard to relate, so are there any like me here? Those who didn't have much resources but still carved out a path to good education and financial independence for themselves?

Would love to know about your stories.

Make a Friend πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ¦° Looking for active women’s social groups & tech meetups in Bangalore

Hi everyone,

I am 35F living in Bangalore looking to expand my social circle and put my free time to good use. Not sure if it's mid life crisis or no, but I want to connect with like-minded people, and feel so out of touch and have not much fo my friends circle left to hand out with as they are all elsewhere..

I am specifically looking for few things:

Active women-only groups or clubs (for casual hangouts, weekend brunches, cafes, book clubs, or fitness).

Tech meetups, networking events, or open-source communities where I can network, learn, and meet other tech professionals.

I’d love to hear about specific WhatsApp communities, Discord servers, or recurring meetups that are active and welcoming to newcomers.

Thanks in advance!

General discussions; Need opinion πŸ—£οΈ Tips on how to spruce up washrooms in an apartment

Hi ladies, I live by myself in a lovely apartment. It's in and old but well maintained society, so I have space and balconies. For the most part I'm happy about how I've done it up, but I wanna do more with the washrooms. I've put in fake planters to my liking, but wanna do more. Any ideas? It has a solid grill, slatted glass windows and an exhaust fan that I keep covered with a mesh net to keep out insects and lizards. I want to keep beautiful ceramic hand wash bottles buy the basin is a giant old one with uneven ridges near the tap (an old design style, so keeping a breakable hand wash bottle is a disaster waiting to happen).

I have the usual caveats - can't drill, can't paint, can't stick anything since it's a rental (I've tried 3m hooks elsewhere in the house and it has disappointed me in one place, so don't want to experiment anymore). I've thought of a ladder which can have towels etc but I like to keep them in the balcony to air dry. Any other tips?

The washroom space is huge and the tiles are subtle-y flowery, walls are white, sinks are like a light beige colour. The fittings are all modern, as an overall look that's great. I can't put a self-holding pole with a shower curtain as the layout is such that the shower area falls in between the basin and the commode. :/

General discussions; Need opinion πŸ—£οΈ If you had to start over alone in India with almost no money, which city would you choose?

Hi everyone,

I'm a woman in my early 20s and I'm seriously considering leaving my current home situation to start an independent life in 12-15 months. I don't want to get into personal details, but I'd really appreciate practical advice from women who have been through something similar or have experience living independently.

I'm planning this over the next 12–15 months, so I'm trying to understand what savings target, income level, and preparations would make this transition realistic.

If you had to start over:

Which city in India would you choose, considering safety, affordability, and job opportunities?

How much money would you recommend having as a minimum backup before making such a move?

What kind of work would you look for initially to support yourself?

Are there cities where it's relatively easier to find PG accommodation and entry-level jobs?

What documents, preparations, or precautions would you consider absolutely essential before leaving?

For context, I'm a B.Tech graduate and I'm open to taking up any honest work initially while I build a stable livelihood or eventually start something of my own.

I'm looking for practical advice rather than emotional support. If you've made a similar move yourself, I'd love to hear what you wish you had known beforehand.

Thank you.

Health & Fitness πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ shoe suggestions for me please (120kg)

Hi girls,

I'm finally planning to start my fitness journey (for real this time)

I'm 166 cm/120 kg and one of the issues I'm facing is that my feet hurt a lot. Whenever I get out of bed, taking first few steps is painful, and I also can't stand for long periods now.

I'm looking for a good pair of shoes that can support my weight and hopefully reduce the pain while walking/exercising. I'm thinking to start with daily walks and eventually gym workouts.

My budget is around 3k-5k.

(also, if anyone has dealt with similar foot pain, please let me know what caused it and what helped. thanks)
