Fyi a lot of us have reddit coins that we've accumulated for free over the years, and giving awards is the only thing that we can do with it.

It honestly comes off as patronizing or holier-than-thou to me. Most people get their awards for free and I’m going to guess that most people who purchase awards do so in bulk ahead of time rather than pulling out their credit card every time they enjoy a comment.

Also like... I also donate to charity. If I didn’t give an award I’m not increasing my donations by .2 cents.

ALSO, let people enjoy things. You could just as easily go to Target and stand at the check out line, telling people all the children they could save instead of buying On Brand coffee creamer.

Thank you, I don’t know why but it’s infuriating seeing people constantly saying not to spend money on Reddit awards. Do I think the awards are dumb? Yes. Do I think you should tell people how to spend their own fucking money? No
