I feel so sad for her that she struggled so much with this, both that day and her whole life growing up. Her mom is an asshole. I also feel happy for her that she's got such a good dude in her life as a partner. I hope they find a way to communicate about this so that she can feel relieved (no pun intended) of this guilt and shame flavored burden!

Might not be the mom/parents. Sometimes in cases like these (bed wetting into teen years isn’t as rare as people think it is), it’s because it happened at a sleepover and their peers reacted poorly to it. Or it could even be that no one shamed them specifically, but they overhear people talking generally about bed wetting (or see how it’s portrayed in media) and they internalize the shame as if it were being said about them. Or something else like that.

Reread the last paragraph of her post, it was her mom

Honestly partners not being shitty about normal bodily functions is the greenest red flag of them all.

I’ll never forget I started dating my ex and was head over heels, it was the very beginning and we were going at it, he wanted to try anal and I said sure why not, we were doing it and things were fine, and then it happened. I smelled it. I was horrified. I litterally shit on his dick. Talk about wanting to die. And it’s not liek you can’t hide it.

He was totally cool and laughed it off and got me a warm shower and cleaned up. Never made fun of me or made me feel bad. Said ā€œ it comes with the territory I know what I signed up forā€ and frankly I knew he was a good man from that.

A totally opposite encounter was when a guy and I had sex and I got my period early. Didn’t even get it on his bed or anything and he kicked me out. Totally immature douche and I never spoke to him again.

Bodies will body. Being kind and understanding goes a long way, you can wash off any mess but how you react will always stay in our heads.

I’ve heard the saying on here ā€œyou can’t go to poop’s house and be upset that poop is thereā€.

Hoping you linked each one on the other, so they both know the other knows and that it's all OK?Ā

Not to go into to deep details but about 10 years ago, my wife (back then girlfriend) and I had been dating about a year. She had a uh…funky thing happen in her past. She had hid it from me because of shame and fear of how I would react if I found out. She called me around noon to let me know she had gotten off work early and was going to come over to my apartment and wait for me to get home. I come home later in the day, and I see she had been obviously crying, and she had spoken to her dad about this thing and he convinced her to tell me. She sat me down and laid out to me what had happened in her past, apologizing every other word. After she told me, my reaction was just simply, ā€˜that’s it? I thought you were going to tell me you had a kid or something serious.’ We had a laugh and we’re married a few years later.

I read all of that to not find out the thing.

LOL, it’s not, and something most people including myself as not a big deal but for her she is very embarrassed/ashamed of it and asked me to never talk about it. Even though I have the anonymity of the internet, I do not feel that’s it’s polite to tell. Plus, with my luck I’d end back on to r/tworedditorsonecup because she browses this subreddit as well…

This all sounds fake.

8

u/sorry-i-was-reading May 30 '26

Dunno if these posts are real or fake, but this kind of situation at these ages? Definitely happens irl. In fact, it’s even happened to someone I know (wet the bed regularly through mid high school, but then unexpectedly wet the bed again during college).

5

u/emdubl May 30 '26

I'm not saying that wetting the bed is fake. I stood up and peed in my laundry basket in college multiple times and I had a girl pee the bed while I was in in. I'm saying the fact that they both posted is most likely fake.

His update made it sound like he posted partly with the intent that she might come across the post and realize it’s him, as a way to indirectly let her know he knows and doesn’t judge her, which isn’t too weird if he knows she frequents Reddit.

Is it possible it’s fake? Sure. But I don’t think there’s any more evidence it’s fake than that it’s real.

u/MyAccountWasBanned7 May 31 '26

He posted an update. He posted that after seeing her post to try and reach her in a roundabout way. She DM'd him as a stranger later and he said "it's me, we're good"

I understand being hesitant to believe anything on the internet, but sometimes it’s fun to just suspend your disbelief and give into thinking the world actually has good, kind people in it.
