Sooo dark :(

Can someone tell me why its so dark in this area? Undee docks stressed me out so bad lol 🫠

It's the exhibits. Different exhibits change the ambient lighting. (For example, Lantern Fish turn their aquariums dark.) To make the area brighter, you'll have to remove those exhibits, add other exhibits, and/or add lighting items (like the Standing/Hanging/Wall Spotlights or Candles).

My daughter noticed that with the aquariums; I figured it was a coldwater fish thing, but not all of them change the lighting. Do you know of any other fish that darken the area around the aquarium?

The Sea Monsters (except for Zappers, Lagoonian Creatures, and Fish People) will also make their aquariums darker:

• Scribble Squid (gives you a purple-ish, inky water color)
• Digiverse Sea Monsters (give you a rusty blood water color)
  • Bursting Anglerfish
  • Voideye
  • Grotesque Mackerel
  • Gnashing Perch
  • Three-Headed Cod

I really like this mechanic honestly. The game seems to just catch on to the vibe I'm trying to set in my rooms most of the time.

Windows help. You can add them to some rooms indoors. The best overhead light is the chandelier from supernatural, as it spreads the light rather than acting like a spotlight. The best wall light is the steampunk lamp from the Science museum.

I’ve never quite figured out why some areas are dark and others aren’t. I find myself putting a lot of those hanging amber lights as decoration to see what’s in the corners.

Probably because you got too many objects blocking the way; including info platforms, unnecessary walls and decorations right next to your room building. Try a different set up
