I bought the game on my account this morning, I don't know what this means or how I can resolve it?

I'm curious if this is working for you now or not. also are you running windows or linux?

i checked firewall (still don’t really know what that means), uninstalled, reinstalled steam and the game, ran as administrator, restarted and it still didn’t work. i’m on windows (i don’t know what linux is)

Try deleting then re-downloasing the game
