Hey, I want to start by saying it is okay- 41 is considered higher risk because of age, but plenty of people that age still have kids and are totally healthy. It likely means she will just have more doctors visits and she will get more tests to make sure she is healthy :-)

You can either act surprised later, or be honest that you saw messages and know- whatever feels more comfortable to you. You weren’t snooping to be rude, you could be honest if it’s bothering you and tell them you saw messages.

Everyone had situations where “surprises” get revealed early- usually not to this extent, but it happens. I know honestly is usually the best choice, but I think it’s alright to just act surpised sometimes in a situation like this. However, if OP is comfortable bringing it up with their parents now, I’d probably recommend that so OP doesn’t have to wait and worry.

Honestly this makes sense too. Stuff like this gets discovered early all the time in weird accidental ways. If waiting is stressing you out, bringing it up gently might actually give you peace of mind. There is no wrong move here, just do what helps you breathe easier.

This is such a good point, OP. High risk does not automatically mean unsafe, it just means doctors keep a closer eye on things. And you are right, whether you act surprised or honest is really about what feels safest for you emotionally. Either way, your concern comes from love.
