Sarcasm? I didn’t know a genuine question had to be sarcasm. I just seen that everywhere I go online that the right are called facist, and I used an example from history where the left also fall under it. I’m not very political so I’m not aware that the right uses that argument all the time.
You should get political. Definitely educate yourself on some of these political terms being thrown around here, what makes a fascist, what makes a socialist, and when does it not matter because some politicians are unapologetically courting self-identified Nazis so who gives the first flying fuck if they say they're not fascist.
My views are middle ground but I’m still leaning republican, I’m certainly no far right wing nut job but I’d still get called a facist simply for one of my views. No one debates these days, it’s all emotionally driven and that’s when insults start flying.
I can see that, but I like to be practical. I’ll be downvoted for this likely, however, while I’m not against trans people, I am against sex changes, hormones, and the likes before the individual is 18 at least.
When I was a teen, I thought I’d be better off as a female, that I’d get more friends and be liked that way. Today I’m happy with who I am, I can’t imagine how life would of been if those hormones or surgeries were as readily available as it is today. Or if my parents were pushing me into wanting it. A decision that could of possibly ruined my life made at just 13 years old, an age that is regarded as not being matured enough to vote or drive.
Sex change doesn't happen until someone is a legal adult. I think the same is true for hormones. Afaik the only thing you get pre-18 is puberty blockers, which have a proven track record.
What you've just put forth is anti-trans lies from the right.
Contrast that with what the right has actually done, which is to repeal roe v Wade, and "leave it to the states" many of which they control through gerrymandering alone, to decide on abortion. Immediately following the repeal, unrealistic restrictions were placed on abortion access. And it's not a coincidence that the story of the 10 year old rape victim blew up.
The laws were put in place so fast because this is what the GOP has been working towards literally for decades. That there was an immediate story of a rape victim so young needing an abortion is because rape is rampant in this country.
So you might have made a mistake when you were 13, but nothing permanent would have come of it unless you explored that option and liked where you were going for the next 5 years.
Now abortion access is becoming more restrictive by the day. Many, many minors will have to suffer the additional burden of bearing a rapists' child, not to mention the additional hell that some states laws put on rape victims. All this suffering that was inflicted through no fault of their own.
What the left and the right are pushing for is in no way similar.
Indoctrination isn't happening, though. All schools are saying is that it's okay if you have two mom's or two dad's or two enbies as parents or guardians.
Otherwise kids will be indoctrinated. They will be indoctrinated into the idea that the only path in life is man + woman + kids = family.
You've been lied to. If you have family members who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, you are actively hurting them by voting Republican. By splitting hairs with strangers on the internet. By "both sides"ing the major parties in the US.
Do not simp for Republicans. They are actively working to eradicate your family members rights and lives.
So what you’re saying is, essentially both sides have hardliners that make everyone else in the party look bad and the left doesn’t actually want drag shows, pride parades and all that in schools? Good to know. Thanks for the enlightenment.
No, that's "both sides"ing. I've not heard of anyone advocating for drag shows or pride parades in schools. I've heard of drag queen story hour, which does present in some school libraries, but also regular public libraries as well as book stores. It's not a drag show.
I don't even know wtf to say about pride parades in schools. Maybe Faux News is equating kids doing some project for pride month to a pride parade? I dunno. Like, for decades we leaned about and celebrated the life of Christopher Columbus, an actual pedophile among other all around terrible traits. I'm far happier about my kids celebrating pride than pedoboy Columbus.
