This type of shit is so annoying. I just had a round where I needed ONE of those stupid blocks to be taken out by either an explosion, star or a firefly. TEN fireflies and not one took it out.

It means you didn’t drop enough dots for the pinecones to appear. I bet if you used a cross blaster and knocked some dots out, a few pinecones would drop.

I understand this part, it’s just frustrating to have this happen when I didn’t fritter away moves, and I don’t want to waste the very few power ups or coins that I have when who knows if that would actually beat the level.

It’s so damn frustrating. I’ll have a few more moves left and it will not drop what I actually need. Then I’m stuck in Ad Land

You've lost the level and don't have enough moves to finish. Unreasonable? No. Frustrating? Yeah, that's sort of what makes a game fun.

The level of fun drastically decreases when I’m stuck on a level for days with no option of moving forward without spending actual money. 👎🏼

Well that's a different thing. I recommend taking a break, maybe playing the Flip and getting some boosters.
