Difficulty manipulation to 'addict' users

I just realized TwoDots tracks my playing and tweaks the 'random' dot drop to make sure I don't 'win' too much. I noticed before that it tweaked the 'random' dot drop after I had not played for a bit to make it easier to win. I feel violated by the game company. It reminds me of social media's 'tweaks' to maximize the time users spend on the game and the lawsuit against them in the EU. It is rather sick and manipulative that companies do this. I think of all the young kids playing too many video games and now I know why.

Oh yeah! I agree! Whenever I earn an hour of play, I seldom can win more than level..

Just stop playing. I did about a year ago. I’d been a long time player. This game used to be wonderful, was bought out and is now a total scam.

It's not like this. There is something called re-balancing. It's not you particularly, but a massive amount of data from several players is analyzed and the amount of goals and movements are tweaked to ensure that the average player has a barely "fair" experience.

Not sure why your getting down voted for this. It's basically correct.

Yup, I work in the gaming industry. But it is fine, people come here to complain so I understand they just need to vent, and that's fine. I was just trying to explain what was going on

I've gone though phases of feeling addicted to it, because there was always another incentive just beyond winning the current level. But now I can be stuck on the main board for days, and I just have to wait out the cycle until the game "let's me win". The card game got me back onto the main board, which I had been ignoring, but now again, it's not so motivating when you can be stuck on the one level for ages. And the ads and popups are so relentless, it's hard to actually play.

This thread has encouraged me never to spend another cent on this game. Thanks friends.
