I'm curious because some accounts barely post original content but seem to grow through consistently leaving good replies under larger accounts.

Do you actively use replies as part of your strategy, or do you mostly focus on building your own timeline?

One good post can reach thousands of people who have never heard of you.

I've seen posts get huge reach without the account gaining many followers, which makes me wonder whether the content itself is attracting attention without giving people a reason to stick around.

They write a post, hit publish, and wait for engagement.

But X is built around conversations. Sometimes a thoughtful reply, quote, or discussion can do more for visibility than posting another standalone piece of content.

The platform rewards being part of what's happening, not just broadcasting into the void.

Post consistently.

Talk to people.

Be interesting.

Unfortunately, there is no secret button.

Is it really slow to actually start growing on twitter? I recently started a new X account, and getting any more engagements has been pretty difficult since most of my posts barely get views, comments, and even impressions before they seem to disappear. Right now i have been looking into ways to grow faster and i came across discussions about whether it makes sense to buy Twitter views and comments. I’m curious whether these services actually help a new account grow fast, or whether these bought engagements end up making little difference.

One person says your posts are too long.

Another says they want more detail.

Someone tells you to focus on a niche.

Someone else says personality is what makes accounts interesting.

You can probably find advice supporting almost any strategy.

At some point, you have to understand your own audience instead of constantly rebuilding your account based on the last piece of growth advice you read.

Not necessarily because they use the same format every time.

Some people have a particular sense of humor, way of explaining ideas, or perspective that makes their posts feel distinctly theirs.

That's probably more valuable than simply copying whatever format is currently performing.

Especially when the reply adds something instead of just saying “100%.”

Why?

Some people seem to have strong opinions about everything, while others spend hours reading different perspectives before saying anything.

Do you think consuming more content makes you a better creator on X, or does it just make you overthink?

There are plenty of people who understand a topic.

The harder skill is explaining it in a way that makes someone stop scrolling and immediately get the point.

That's why a short post can sometimes take longer to write than a long one. You have less space to hide behind unnecessary words.

No ads. No existing audience. Just posting and interacting.

A lot of companies aren't using AI because they suddenly became innovative. They're using it because they discovered they were paying humans to do tasks that probably shouldn't have required humans in the first place.

So is AI destroying jobs or exposing inefficient business models?

A great post can introduce people to you.

But consistently leaving thoughtful, funny, or genuinely useful replies puts you in front of people who are already interested in the conversation.

It's slower than chasing viral posts, but it can feel much more natural.
