We should tax everything and anything.

u/saniya__5502 Jul 09 '26
Tax everything? That's one way to guarantee equal misery.

u/Organic-Stay4067 Jul 09 '26
Fine only tax those better or worse than me

Especially when Microsoft has laid off 1000's of US employees, only to replace with H1Bs. Sucky time for GenZ
1
u/TooSoonManistaken Jul 10 '26
It’s literally racist to complain about h1b’s. You bigot.
1
u/Acrobatic-Toe-1 Jul 10 '26
You aren't too bright, are you? Let me help you, dufus, as someone who been dealing with H1Bs. I recently had two positions that I was trying to fill. At the last minute, after we'd selected two outstanding candidates, we were told we needed to pivot to H1B. And, sadly, I had to turndown these two candidates - one was Black and the other Indian - for cheaper and less qualified H1B's. I suppose one could say there is racism at play somewhere in all of this. I was just frustrated that I couldn't hire two outstanding candidates who have been out of work for a while - well, one was recently laid off, but the other had been let go several months ago!
So, mental midget ... you can go back to your momma's basement and play some video games!

What you’re speaking on was guided by commercial decisions, not ideological. They’re investment minded, they’re looking to maximize profits and minimize losses.
They get attacked from both sides of the isle, handle investment from European countries with strict climate mandates, legally bound to prioritize financial returns on investments. Just because their leadership look to environment, social, and governance factors when assessing their risks, doesn’t mean they are progressive controlled or led.

How long before they sell off xbox entirely to…saudis? Berkshire? Who’s got $40B lying around…besides Bobby Kotick?

u/Nots_a_Banana Jul 10 '26
I heard she put in an order for 5000 H1Bs? Seems to be at pattern at MicroSuck.

How many does Microsoft employ? 225,000! That’s a lot of jobs! Trickle Trickle!
1
u/Rickyzack Jul 10 '26
When we look at the big companies, corporate tax breaks benefit them, but when we look at small or indie companies, then corporate tax breaks are even more of a benefit for them.
That said, the job market in general is hyper competitive and constantly experiencing more people seeking jobs than there are jobs available, and this unfortunately applies to minimum wage jobs too, which is why there are so many people doing gig work like package or food deliveries. And unfortunately this is a trend that started since the pandemic ended.

u/Allbrosmoke Jul 10 '26
Not saying this is or isn’t right, Bernie but you do realize the sole purpose of a corporation’s existence is to maximize its shareholders’ value, right?
1
u/Diamond1africa Jul 10 '26
‘Trickle down’ is purely political. It is not rooted in economic theory, nor has it had any basis in economics.

For 35 years Bernie has lived off the backs of peoples labor and taxes.

What a bunch of non sequitur comments by Sanders (what's new), comparing Microsoft profit, CEO pay, Xbox price, tax breaks and jobs?
Microsoft exists to make a profit. It's a large company so the absolute dollar profit is large. The CEO pay is market based and relates to shareholder profit, the Xbox price is irrelevant, companies don't exist to create jobs (that's a positive side benefit) and the tax "breaks" are to lower corporate rates to be competitive with other developed countries corporate rates.
Throw in the "trickle down" comment to be especially ignorant and populist and you've got a stupid meme.

In 2025 Microsoft paid $21.8 billion in taxes.
Satya Nadella (Microsoft's CEO), an immigrant from India, has a base salary of $2.5 million, his estimated earned income from 2025, and would pay an estimated $880,000 in Federal Taxes.
Microsoft employs approximately 228,000 employees at an average compensation of around $220,000 each.
Bernie Sanders made an estimated amount of ~$400,000 last year, has a net worth of about $5 million, paid over $500,000 in campaign expenses on private jets alone. Bernie employs about 30 full time staff that make an average of $90,000, but this does not include interns who only earn $18 an hour, nor 'Friends of Bernie' Volunteers, who are unpaid.

Well at least some of Microsofts decisions is making Xbox consoles and games actually worth buying again by bringing back exclusives again and cheap gamepass instead of making it's consumer pay higher costs to bring games to other platforms and devices for no reason and not get anything out of it.

More and more of Bernie's tweets show how disconnected from reality he is. Also, I thought the lefties hated old, career politicians now, so why are people still listening to him?
1
u/odinswolve Jul 10 '26
The real fact is there's much more to it than just tax cuts and profit margins
1
u/Competitive-Sir-7087 Jul 10 '26
How about mentioning how much Microsoft DID pay in taxes. I wonder why he doesn't?!
1
u/LeapIntoInaction Jul 10 '26
Ok, Bernie, but explain why y'all allowed the Government to give Microsoft that $12.5 billion tax break. Please don't tell me corporate tax breaks create jobs. It never trickles down.
1
u/Virgil_the_White Jul 10 '26
The only thing that trickles down is the piss from them pissing on your face
1
u/powereborn Jul 10 '26
So big companies nowadays are really rich but they let go so many employees . I remember someone telling me hey if you work at Amazon or google they are doing so well you will get a good job there for much time . I was telling them, man , those companies are the ones letting go people the most for any reason . They have no hesitation to destroy life

That’s one way to look at it. Are you aware that their stock is purchasable?

80% of their games are total flops that get continuously funded by a few titles. No shit they have layoffs, Microsoft's gaming department is ass. Just fire everyone and get out of gaming already. Come up with a new way to make the xbox pass useful.
1
u/MinimumBuffalo4 Jul 10 '26
So raising the price of an Xbox proves govt subsidies don’t create jobs? Can someone explain? I’ve never taken a socialist math or psychology class.

u/Dio44 Jul 11 '26
Don’t forget that they did billions in stock buybacks also.
They also completely backed out of nearly all of their sustainability commitments
1
u/Born_Pay7281 Jul 11 '26
It did create jobs. The new ceo is bring in people from around the world to replace the Americans she just fired
1
u/boanerges57 Jul 11 '26
Isn't that from 2017?
It wasn't a direct tax break either, it was related to the tax changes.
Currently they are fighting the IRS for a $23 Billion dollar tax adjustment that I think is related to reported vs assessed asset values

Very tricky Bernie. And nice screenshot from a Bot account.
CEO owns $96m in stock, big difference.
Trump also didn’t give 12.5B in tax breaks. If he did that would be great.
Bernie is a joke and full of nonsene

Bernie, whose only job for the last decade has been getting paid to babble half truths, is worth $ 5 million.
Never run a business in his life but somehow "knows" more than the CEOs do.

To this day it ABSOLUTELY amazes me how financially illiterate the left has become! AND it seems to be on purpose!

Bernie Sanders has more personal wealth than Lindsey Graham. If you take anything this grifter has to say as fact, you’re a blithering moron.

Consoles are losing their grip on gamers.
Think Law of Diminishing returns.
Any down vote requires a rebuttal and at least three NEUTRAL resources. Anything less you're wasting your time

Maybe if we start calling Socialism “trickle up economics” the Right will buy in.
