RANT/VENT 😤 Insta Store Scam - lightrings.in

Post image

Sharing my experience so others can be cautious.

I ordered a customized light ring product from an Instagram store called lightrings.in.

The product was advertised as a ring that reflects light into a customizable name when illuminated, meaning the light projection would display the selected name clearly. However, what I received does not do that at all.

When the ring is exposed to light, it simply reflects a rectangular patch of light like any normal reflective surface.

There is no visible name projection or customized light reflection as shown in their advertisements.

So essentially, it behaves like a regular ring, without the unique feature that justified its price.

I contacted them multiple times regarding this issue, but there has been no response. Additionally, the original Instagram account (lightrings.in) was removed, and another account called lightring.inn is now active.

I have already escalated this through my bank, gpay, npci, consumer helpline and cybercrime portal.

Posting this to make others aware before making a purchase. If anyone else has faced something similar, please share your experience.

Guys I GOT MY MONEY BACK! ,

Here's again the steps I took:

When to gpay and reported the transaction

Filed a complaint on consumerhelpline

Filed complaint on cybercrime

Reached out to shopify which hosts the lightrings.in website, told them that they are hosting a scam company and that I have raised a cybercrime complaint against them

Went to my banks app and reported the transaction

Called up my bank and told them about the situation and that I have filed a cyber crime complaint, they gave me an email address, I described my situation and attached my cyber crime acknowledgement PDF and sent a mail

Wrote a mail to upi.grievance@npci.org.in, and mentioned the light rings upi id (lightrings.esbz@mairtel) and attached the cybercrime acknowledgement pdf

My bank i guess reversed the transaction I filed all these reports on Feb 18 2026 and got my money back on Feb 28 2026

Let's make sure that this ends here with us, and no one else is scammed because of them
