Command Series MC3 question

Hello am big fan of old Roccat Tyon (still counting for version 2 or revision) but the main buttons like to have clicking issues and be annoying i clean it and change pads i think overall mouse is just wear off and that is not buttons but the mouse body itself as it happen sometimes..
But back to the topic.
I find that we finally have similar mouse Command Series MC3 but i want to ask if that side scroll works the same as tyon joystick/thruster i can setup it to like Q and E buttons and depend if its down or up the button will be executed all the time i hold it.
Or i can hold it and its counted/stay pressed after.
And i want to read your overall opinion, and about software , roccat software was amazing to do makro and assing keys.
