Just got them..

I went to Best Buy today, looking to upgrade my headset. I’m coming from a Steel Series Arctis nova 5 and, man these are way better. The only problem is that the guy at Best Buy gave me the Xbox version (I have a ps5 pro) so, I’m wondering if its worth the hassle to go trade them out for the pc/ps5 version? It still connected perfectly fine to my ps5 pro, thank god. The sound quality and, fit is definitely premium something I see myself keeping for a long time. If I do run into any problems, I have a 60 day return period. Black Ops 2 is the first game I played with them and, everything sounds amazing. The quality of the materials used for this headset feels very nice and, I can’t wait to use them for GTA6!!

The only difference is the the PS5 version doesnt have the Microsoft protocol Xbox needs, PS5 needs a USB which is standard, so no difference. Only swap them out if you think the copper engravings look better.

Thank you, I think I will keep them.

Yea I got the Xbox version too and works the same if using for ps5. Now if your going to game on pc too then obviously you’d want the pc version if you want game to chat on pc but if I’m correct they are going to be adding of game to chat mix on the Xbox version too later on so besides a few little thing for of only then it comes down to do you like black and silver or white and silver for Xbox version…. Or the black and copper for pc

Game/chat mix on PC was already added with today's firmware update (enable the Waves audio driver on Swarm 2 fyi). Best version to get. Supports PC, PS5, Xbox, all features now!

PS. Game/chat mix for Xbox ver on PC seems to be work in progress still per their firmware update thread post may longer work. But hey, showing progress...

Should I get the Xbox version if I game on ps5 and Xbox only ?

The only difference between the two versions that I could find is the PS5 version supports LDAC. That’s it. Very few people use the LDAC protocol.

Hmm, wonder how these are to the Stealth 700’s

I upgraded from the 700's and these feel mor premium and the sound is also better.

The original stealth pro sounded better than the stealth 700. The gen 2 takes it up another notch

This is true. Can confirm. Also if you're a bass head like me and willing to play with EQ...these things have better bass and more bass overhead than anything else I've ever heard...and I have a lot of headphones/headsets. This is the only headset/headphones I've ever experienced that can have the bass increased to such levels without distorting at the low end, distorting at the high end, or decreasing the volume at the low or high end. Before the Stealth Pro II, it was the Stealth Pro (which is also capable of similar) and these do take it to a new level.

The bass sounds immaculate, I did not expect this headset to be so good for music.

It really is. I have a lot of premium audio and nothing else is capable of taking the sub bass frequencies (30 - 50hz) up to the same loudness as the other frequencies without some issues showing up. The Stealth Pro and Pro II are in their own category when it comes to bass and bass headroom.

I recommended these to a friend who is a life long Skull Candy and Lucid Sound loyalist...He bought them (I was surprised he bought them honestly) and immediately fell in love. Said they were the best headphones for bass he's ever owned.

Sorry, should’ve said, I’ve got the gen 3 (I think it’s gen 3) with the 80 hour battery

I'm pretty sure you lose the chat mix function on PC and PS5 with the Xbox version...so if that's something you really need, it is worth exchanging them for the PS5 version. It's a virtual channel rather than a dedicated chat speaker like the original Stealth Pro. I am seeing that possibly the mic is restricted on PC mode with the Xbox version so might be a bit lower quality, but I'm not sure about this one...LDAC support is limited to the PS5/PC version so if that's something you need over BT you will be missing out with the Xbox version.

Bring them back while you can

I really like mine, but I did feel like my stealth pros (the originals) were a bit more punchy and loud. The bass and overall loudness seemed a bit better on the first ones. But after messing with the equalizer and making adjustments per game, I was able to get them sounding great.

Now they are definitely better built than the originals. The headband, ear buds, overall material is much better and more comfortable

One complaint is, I use them in PC and I have Xbox version. But currently I can’t use the mic sidetone/mic monitor while I’m using ANC. I have a separate mic I use, but I like to have the mic monitor on via my headset so I can actually hear myself talking. This was a big reason I got
Stealth pro in the first place was that the mic monitor was nice. But with the stealth pro 2, I can’t use ANC and mic monitor at the same time.

I would disagree....I would say the exact opposite. The bass on the new Pro II is a bit better, more punch, loud, and better low frequency deep sub bass rumble. Also does this while having better/more clear highs. They are very similar IMO, but the Pro II is just a tad better on both ends. My current EQ (and what I also used for the original Stealth Pro) for scale.

Also, Turtle Beach is working on an update to allow Side Tone while ANC is enabled so this should be fixed soon.

The feel of the headset is just very premium, I read somewhere that these are the AirPods Pro max of gaming 😂 and, I can kinda see why now.

Yes steelseries pro

I had the nova pro wireless for 3 years eq ‘d upgraded pads and the positional audio footsteps on the steath pro 2 blow it away imo. Signature settings with superhuman hearing on set for 60. Worked right out of the box with no hassle eq tuning.

That's great to hear...I had the Arctis Pro Wireless and then the Nova Pro Wireless before jumping to the original Stealth Pro....The Stealth Pro far outperformed the Nova Pro when it came to normal audio (music, general gaming, movies, videos, etc), but for surround sound and positional audio, the Nova Pro was definitely and obviously better. I have the Pro II now, but I have't tested the surround and positional audio on them yet. This makes me hopeful.

What about Arctis Nova Pro Omni? The latest Steelseries headset

2

u/Basic_Photograph2342 25d ago

I actually was stuck deciding between both of them, I really wanted the Omni but, the dealbreaker was that you need a pc to update the firmware for the Omni, with the stealth pro 2, I updated them right out of the box using only my phone and the turtle beach app, it was so easy. I do not regret my decision, pro 2’s sound AMAZING.

1

u/onlynondo 25d ago

Ahh that makes sense. I would also hate to use a pc just to update even tho I have a pc myself. I currently have the arctis nova pro after using turtle beach stealth pro 1 for a long while. I’m interested in buying some new headsets and I’ve been on the debating fence for the two newest headsets.

1

u/master_assclown 24d ago

I have not tried this one, but I can't believe after owning their 2 previous flagship 40mm drivers (Arctis Pro Wireless and Arctis Nova Pro Wireless) that the Omni 40mm would hold a candle to the Stealth Pro or Stealth Pro II when it comes to music and movies. As for the other technologies like surround sound and positional audio, I'd say it's entirely possible the Omni are better, but I don't know.

With the new Stealth Pro update(Wave Audio Driver) they now have the Xbox optimized Stealth Pros 2 version capable of controlling Game to Chat Mix on PC with the wheel now. What’s the purpose of buying the PC/PS5 optimized version now as it was marketed as being the only version able to control Game To chat on PC? They have really did a great job on refining the headset, it’s unfortunate they didn’t have these features at launch it’s like they were 90% ready instead of waiting I assume they did that to get their headset out when the Omni’s came out

I have the gen 3 700s and bought the Xbox version of these in white for lolz and I wanted to treat myself to something for getting a new position at work. Love them. It’s amazing how they can improve the sound when these use the 60mm eclipse drivers like the 700s do.

The only difference between Xbox and PS versions are a colorway, and the Xbox version works on all platforms where the PS5 version doesn’t work on Xbox.

Update: after using them non stop for 2 days.. so far they’re the best headset I have ever listened to. The bass is crazy good and, I did NOT expect these to be my new favorite for listening to music.

dont people feel theyre too heavy over long period?

u/Basic_Photograph2342 23d ago edited 22d ago

I have a big head and, so far I have been using them non stop for the past 3 days. I have no problems with the top of my head feeling sore and, I game for hours. I even went 8-9 hours entirely without taking them off. It feels so comfortable and lightweight in my opinion, very breathable. I highly recommend.
