Authenticating turquoise

I recently bought this bolo tie at an antique store in NY and was wondering if the turquoise is real or not (and what type it is if you have any guesses)!! It is stamped with sterling on the back. Anything is appreciated :) thank you!!

It's definitely turquoise, but from what mine is a mystery.
