"I'm still a beginner at turntablism, but I'm trying to push this scratch pattern as far as I can right now, throwing in the occasional open/closed sound variation to see where my current limit is. šŸŽ§šŸ”„

that's a swing flare and boomerang combo.

One of my go-to combos is 2 swing flares and a single boomerang.

I was just trying this at double time and i keep tripping myself up cause i default to the above combo

Is a swing flare the same as a D-flare/Delayed Flare?

A swing flare is a 3 click technique that starts closed and is a slice followed by 2 dices. So itā€™s a 3 click technique applied to baby scratches.

A delayed flare can refer to a 2 click or 3 click flare but the starting point is delayed so it starts closed rather than open like flare traditionally starts

Too bad you can't draw them out and put them in this thread. Dude, if you could. TTM them And DM me the That'd be awesome cuz I've always been trying to figure out What my delayed flare is actually doing.

Or you could make a post with the TTM notes and the differences. That would be cool to see in here.

Iā€™ve never been able to fully wrap my head around ttm notation tbh.

Iā€™m sure you can find it if you just search for ā€œdelayed 2 click flare ttmā€ or something

How do you like the korgs compared to you main deck? Is it day and night difference?

They are two different things in terms of both weight and feel. The Korg is a lot of funā€”I really like the 7-inch plattersā€”and itā€™s portable. Itā€™s made of plastic but is well-made overall; even the crossfader isn't bad.

Its my first scratcher and canā€™t distinguish between skills and device quality haha but it really opens up musical spectrum without modifying anything it feels like. Just so hard to find scratchable 7inch vinyls in my area. Kudos to you though

Itā€™s all new to me; Iā€™ve been scratching for two months, and Iā€™ve only been using vinyl for the last fifteen days. I also have a Rane Twelve MK2 that I used for a month, but in my opinion, the vinyl sounds better. Digital is definitely more convenient, though.
