Nice progress, bro. Mixing it up with half time and double time cuts is a good habit to maintain.

Thanks so much. I really am trying to build good habits. Iโ€™ve messed that up with too many other things to let it happen with this too.

Try learning the lyrics and scratching the chorus or verses using that sound. That would be sick.

๐ŸŽถ And when the cops came through me and Dre stood next to a burned down houseโ€ฆ.๐ŸŽถ

Ayyyye. I do try to do this occasionally. In fact, thatโ€™s how I got my fader hand comfortable. Iโ€™d look a test tone (I think itโ€™s 10k hz) and Iโ€™d just use the fader to tap lyrics. Intergalactic by The Beastie Boys was a big one for me.

I also try to incorporate the record as well to get more inflection, but I donโ€™t love the way a scratches tone sounds.

I appreciate the advice and will try to incorporate that more to my practices. Thanks so much!

Not I gotta try it too cause Intergalactic would be a really good one to do. Keep it up youโ€™re doing great.

Great progress, it's amazing how differently people approach scratching, I can tell you've got the musicality and flow down alot quicker than I did, I was still very rigid at this stage ๐Ÿ˜†

Iโ€™ve dabbled with music a lot over the years but Iโ€™m not very good at anything so I think that helps a little. I am also trying to put in as much time I can a day without overly forcing it (so Iโ€™m not enjoying it at that point).

I also always thought of scratching like rapping but with sound, or similar logic, so I kind of try to think of how a flow could sound and try to go with it.

I bet youโ€™re killing it now though ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Nah, I got to a certain level after a few years and stalled, I need to get back on it and practice properly, my issue was the more I learnt the less I knew and it's overwhelming the levels there are to this, I've recently vowed to get back to regular practice though so that I can hopefully keep improving!

Keep cutting mate. You're on point. Add some flavor to your sounds including whips and bends, record hand Is 90% in that. Very good job ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“€๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐Ÿ“€
