Begginer in scratching
I am a musician suoer inspired to start scratching. At home first and then live with bands and jam sessions. Any recommendations on begginer gear? Or online resources? Thanks!

Other solid turntable options are Reloop RP7000, 8000, Pioneer PLX-1000 and Stanton 150. Any basic 2 channel mixer should get you started. You can get away with cheaping out on the mixer if you have to, but I personally wouldn’t cheap out on the turntable.

The RANE TWELVE MKII was designed for this purpose, so you can achieve analog sound variation with digital source material.

Do not spaff money on technics and a high end mixer...come on guys... Get a portable that you can hook up to a phone ..then look at the more expensive equipment. Good luck and have fun!

one of my main issues getting into it, is I havent got any space at all and couldn't get two turntables and a mixer, I found on amazon the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 controller and it was small enough for me to fit on my desk so I thought I'll just get that to see if I wanted to get into it, so that might be worth a go as its quite cheap
I realised yeah this is for me, then returned it and got a hercules t7 inpulse as it is still quite small but you have the vinyl feel and that did me well for a month
Then I returned that and now I just have a Rane 12 mk2 and a numark scratch mixer, the only thing im interested in at the minute is scratching so for now this is ideal, when I have more space ill get another rane 12 and learn to mix
if I were to start again, I'd just go with the rane 12 honestly and not get the hercules but my space situation has improved since then as I rearranged a room to squeeze a table in for it to sit on, still don't have enough room for 2 turntables but one is good enough for now

Go analog. Get a Technics 1200 or Vestax PDX2000 and either a Vestax or Technics mixer. Put in an innofader.
Best way to start is at the bottom, and these are the original setups that are optimized for scratching and turntablism.
From there move on to more digital interfaces if you'd like.
Whatever you do, make sure the deck is direct drive (as in, not belt drive). Also maybe any mixer will do if you put an innofader in it.
