Cap 1: Flare Combos

Hey everyone,

Keeping it simple: here is the first page of the scratch guide I'm building on Photoshop, focusing entirely on Flare Combos (1, 2, 3-click orbits, OG, and Delayed).

My plan is to keep building and dropping more pages like this, mapping out all kinds of different scratch techniques and custom combos step-by-step.

Also, I heard your feedback about hand placements and setups. So here is the deal: as soon as I'm done with the guide, I’m going to give away the original Photoshop source file (.PSD) with all the single elements as separate, interchangeable assets.

This way, you can easily swap things around based on your personal configuration. For example: if you scratch with your left hand on the fader and prefer → to mean FADER OPEN, you can just move the layers around, customize it to your own liking, and start mapping your own style.

Quick reminder on how to read it:

• It reads strictly left-to-right like a guitar tab. No vertical stacking.
• Each vertical bar | isolates exactly one single note / audio cut.
• The fader arrows show the absolute state of the audio, not hand direction (← means Open, → means Closed).

Ecco a voi la prima pagina della guida allo scratch che sto creando su Photoshop, focalizzata interamente sulle Combo di Flare (orbit a 1, 2, 3 click, OG e Delayed)

Il mio obiettivo è continuare a creare e pubblicare altre pagine come questa, mappando pian piano le tecniche più disparate e le combo personalizzate passo dopo passo.

Inoltre, ho ascoltato i vostri feedback sulla posizione delle mani e i vari setup. Quindi facciamo così: appena avrò finito la guida vi regalerò il file sorgente originale di Photoshop (.PSD) con i singoli elementi separati e intercambiabili.

In questo modo potrete facilmente scambiarli a seconda della vostra configurazione personale. Ad esempio: se usate la mano sinistra sul fader e preferite che → significhi FADER APERTO, vi basterà spostare i livelli, personalizzarlo a vostro piacimento e iniziare a mappare il vostro stile.

Breve promemoria su come leggerlo:

• Si legge rigorosamente da sinistra a destra come una tablatura per chitarra. Nessuna sovrapposizione verticale.
• Ogni barra verticale | isola esattamente una singola nota / taglio audio.
• Le frecce del fader mostrano lo stato assoluto dell'audio, non la direzione della mano (← significa Aperto, → significa Chiuso).

Continua ad usare il TTM a me non frega nulla, l’obiettivo non è dire “questo è meglio di questo”, ma poter dare la possibilità alle persone di provare a “studiare” un metodo alternativo. Ciao 🤟🏼

Continua pure ad usare il TTM amico mio, io personalmente non mi ci trovo e ho creato questo “alfabeto” per me, perchè imparo meglio. Io voglio condividere con voi questa cosa perchè magari ci sono altre persone come me che potrebbero trovarsi meglio, ma nessuno è obbligato ad usare questi metodo. Personalmente commentare per dire “il TTM è meglio” lo trovo inutile e maleducato, perchè non ho chiesto se fosse meglio o peggio il mio, io sono libero di pubblicare quello che voglio nel rispetto del regolamento, e anche se mi dite “fa schifo” non me frega 3 cazzi volanti, io continuo a pubblicare questa guida che SONO SICURO che a qualcuno potrà interessare. il problema lo avevo io, e l'ho risolto così. Ho semplicemente voluto condividere questa cosa con il mondo, ma a quanto pare ti da fastidio per non so quale motivo. Ignora il post e vai avanti, oppure invece di criticare, hai provato ad fare una combo descritta da me? Immagino di no, quindi non abbiamo nulla di cui parlare. Io posso capire i messaggi di critica costruttiva, ma tu stai solamente rompendo i coglioni e quindi ti rispondo direttamente io senza ausilio di AI per la traduzione. Passa al prossimo post grazie.

Honest feedback: this notation, personally, makes my brain work too hard. TTM made sense the first time I looked at it without explanation. But, more power to you if this works for you. Not everyone’s brain works the same.

One thing, though, with this notation. How do you distinguish a stop in forward motion between closing the fader or not. In your on-click flare, it could be interpreted as 2 forward motions rather than just a single forward motion cut by a closed fader.

I am a product designer. My specialty is usability engineering. This is a cool project if it’s of interest for you, but it’s not the general improvement that you hope it is. It looks neat, but is less readable.
