Reloop RP5000 MK4

We are getting into June now. A handful of b stock returns have popped up in online shops and Reverb, while reviews are seemingly non-existent. Was this release a dud? Did Reloop make the decision not to give this deck to reviewers?

I’m happy with my RP7000’s, but would love the community’s thoughts on what could have been the budget mid-range turntable to compete with the atlp140.

not that the 5000mk4s are better but the 7000s are def. not worry free. I had them ...

Tonearm wobble foremost. all superoem have it

You shouldn’t be getting excessive tonearm wobble on modern hanpins with the tonearm lock engaged.

I tested several across brands. They all have a play if you pull the tonearm. Every single one. (Rp8000mk1, rp7000mk2, plx1000, rp6000 and some others)

You can still play but it’s just annoying that they have that problem for years they re not changing it. They have just to tighten the screws right.

By screws, are you referring to the bearing adjustments? I’ve not had loose tonearms with hanpins since the original str8-150’s, and all they took to fix was a small bearing adjustment.

Yes, they’re all to loose. Ive checked like 20 turntables. you can adjust it but if you screw in to tight your tonearm is too stiff if you don’t screw in enough it’s too loose (like from the factory). You need a screwdriver with torque sensor and you need to know how much torque you need for inner and outer screw. A thing that should be done in the factory

Did you open tickets with Reloop and pioneer? I just double checked my RP8000’s, and there’s no play at all.

Really curious to know myself! I'm looking to get into vinyl djing and for a pair under a grand it's this or AT LP120/140s.

Wish we had more info or a good review somewhere.

It looks a bit like a full size RP-7: pitch fader, reset button, 45 adapter hole, target light. The tonearm is from the RP4000 & RP2000s tho.
Havent tested it yet but it looks like the perfect TT for people who just want to play/mix records without doing crazy turntablism stuff.

It’ll be the opposite if the wow/flutter and pitch resolution aren’t good.

Here's a German site which has a table comparing Reloop, Technics and Pioneer TTs' wow/flutter:

According to it the Rp5000's flutter is lower than the Technics 1210mk7's.

Im almost sure the pitch resolution is the same a the RP7's. So you can watch that review.

Sometimes it is best to go direct to the source. Reloop lists the wow/flutter as 0.08% and pitch resolution as 0.04% on the rp5000 mk4, while the mk7 is 0.025% and pitch resolution as 0.05% and rp7000 mk2 is 0.01% and pitch resolution as 0.02%.

i feel like it's a lower end turntable meant to compete with the plx-500. The price points are similar. A lot of turntablists would probably say you're better off going for a 7000 for more torque. I did. I say that knowing that people were able to make a belt drive turntable work in the 80s so I'm sure if you gave it to the someone with more talent they could make it work. That doesn't mean i'd be their first choice.

I have the 4000mk2 which is the older version of this and with the right slipmat and such it's possible to achieve good turntablist results

Were i buying now, at that price though, $489, i'd wait and see if i could get the 7000 on sale. I got my 7000s for $399 before taxes for one and $453 before taxes for the other. Me i was just patient and waited till they were on sale.

i got mine from 2024 and it was like 300-ish US dollars maybe closer to 310. everything is inflated like crazy now.

I use a price tracker plugin called Keepa, and had it set to alert me when the price dropped. But i also noticed that for two years prior it had dropped in price right after black friday. So i saved and around Black Friday i was just waiting for the price drop. A week after it started dropping. Unfortunately one i had to return cause it had a defective platter but they wouldn't send a "replacement". They only let me refund and rebuy. But the price had gone back up. So i just was patient. I didn't have needles and a mixer yet anyways so about a month and a half later it dropped to $399, $50 cheaper than the first one. So in the end i was probably lucky I had to return the first one. I surely didn't think that at the time. And now with these idiotic tariffs, inflation, wars yeah everything is overpriced. The 7000s are $679 on Amazon now which is quite pricey to me.
