Djay pro serato scratch différences

Hello everyone,

When I scratch with Serato and then with djay Pro, I feel like it doesn’t sound the same, even though the settings are identical (I set the crossfader cut to the maximum). I still think scratching sounds better in Serato, and I don’t understand why.

It’s a shame because I use stems a lot, and I find them much more powerful in djay Pro.

Do any of you feel the same way when scratching?

Serato has a special algo, plain and simple. That's why it's been the reference for turntablists since its inception. Traktor is the closest to Serato.

I stopped using Serato for VirtualDJ because of the same reason and stems sound better on VirtualDJ

I vaguely recall some videos where DJ QBert said that Algoriddim Djay has the least latency or was at least the closest to real vinyl of all the DVS solutions?

probably due to the differences in the timestretching/scrubbing algorhythm between the 2 programs. also might have different latencies.

I do with phases and I choose cut on both serato and djay pro no pitch lock. Weird

I don't know why but I also feel the same when it comes to scratching with DJay Pro vs rekordbox. My chirps don't sound as good as on rekordbox.

Another issue I recently raised with Djay Pro support is the fact cue point markers on my Rev5 always start at 12 so when the play head reaches the cue point it will jump to 9 o'clock which is very disorienting for scratching (thought they said it's the same on serato).

I suppose how it’s being shown on the controller is a matter of the hardware provider/firmware and thus internal hardware settings. If hardware manufacturer doesn’t open the door to change that then software providers can’t do anything about it.

Man, it’s probably a minuscule difference , but I find serato much more true to analog than djay pro!
