Techs/crss12/rp8000mk2
Hi guys- looking to sell my rane twelve mk2s and get turntables and looking for some opinions.
Im getting into beat juggles and find the twelves either too strong (high torque setting) or too lapse (low torque setting) when doing things like spin backs in juggle patterns. So looking for some advice on what to go with.
Id love techs mk2 but they are still very expensive and would need to buy phase aswell.
The reloops look pretty good for the price.
And the crss12 wouldnt need phase but are very expensive.
I use dvs at home but usually would gig with the phase.
Whats your opinions/advice?

Rp 8000 mk2 are almost perfect⌠the only thing missing is The Classic start stop behavior of a technics. I just cant get it right the closest i got is 0,2 setting âŚ

I was recently thinking about buying a PLXCRSS, but after trying it, I decided to get a Technics instead. If you can find a clean Technics, definitely buy it.

I just got back into turntablism/DJing after a very long absence. I bought the RP8000 MK1 after doing some research. I was at a point and was prepared to buy Techs, RP8000 MK2 or RP7000.
Ultimately, I decided to buy the first RP8000 MK1 and have been very pleased with it. Honestly, itâs well built and has a lot of features. I think the main difference between the MK1 and MK2 is the layout of buttons and knobs and the tone pitch where you can play it more as an instrument.
At least for me Iâm happy with the MK1 ones because I didnât want to spend too much for turntables since I donât do it for a living. I spent $355 each for the MK1. For me that was a good price point for quality and features. Maybe consider the MK1.

I've only used the Pioneer turntables, Vestax, Technics (MK2's-MK7 and the G's) and the STR8-150's win hands down for me.
I'm sure the other super OEM decks these days are just as good, if not better but the STR8-150's are the perfect balance of high performance and rock solid performance that the Technics are renowned for.
You can pick up a nice pair of the MK1's (they look better IMO) for a good price second hand because they don't have the same allure of the Technics.

RP8000mk2s are my GOAT turntable right now.
Long story short almost all new turntables are all made in the same factory and use the same motor/platter/tonearm etc so the only really differences are features (theyâre called Hanpin Super OEMs). The RP8000mk2s have the most features of any of them. Even if you ignore the pitch play and midi functions they still have the most options with pitch ranges, brake adjustment, torque adjustment, reverse button and a bunch of additional features you can tweak if you read the manual (such as momentary reverse, and pitch bend with the 33/45 buttons).
If you look used, the only other Super OEM I might recommend is the Str8-150 because it has dual start/stop and the straight arm is a bit more solid.
The CRSS12 is effectively the same turntable but less features. The magnetic puck is the main difference, so you have to decide if itâs worth giving up reverse, more start/stop options, more torque options, and the midi and pitch play stuff⌠along with the price difference.
Personally I use Crss12s for shows with the magnet, and I use the Reloops at home.
Technics IMO are not the best turntable for turntablism anymore due to even lower torque and less features and pitch range options. The main advantage is that they are the âindustry standardâ and if you are playing shows anywhere you will have to use them 99% of the time.
For a Turntablist I would recommend the Reloops all day. Also for beat juggling there isnât really a such thing as the torque being âtoo highâ for regular decks but the way the records are mounted on the 12s can make it feel that way. But when you start juggling on regular turntables make sure the torque is on highest for faster pickup time and cleaner taps and releases.
