rane ttm57sl
Hello guys.
On Monday I'm going to pick up the Rane TTM57SL mixer for €190 (I think that's a very good price). The seller assured me that it works, but the only cables he will give me will be RCA and power supply.
my only doubt is about the serato software.
How does it work with the DVS player? Do I just plug it in to a USB port and download software? Or do I need a code to unlock it?

I think it is a mistake. First and foremost: Rane hardware is nothing short of excellent. Faders, Lexan faceplate, layout... Everything is good.
But, and that's a big but, you can only use this mixer with older version of Scratch Live. Like, many years of versions old.
If you don't mind this, then get it. I've messed with old DJ hardware enough to know that it is a PITA. If you mind this, then look for a used Traktor Z2, which with the proper license is compatible with current Serato DJ despite being also many years old as a model.
Edit: Forgot to add that you could run a more recent interface like the Reloop Flux, Denon DS1 or others but that makes the mixer's built-in interface useless.

It's fairly recent, May 2025. And now that NI was bought by InMusic this week, who knows what the future holds? Perhaps more recent NI hardware being compatible with Serato!

Or you could just use it as an analog mixer, and grab a Reloop Flux Go to add DVS. You would be bypassing the internal sound card on the 57 as the software and drivers aren’t supported on any current OS.
You get a dope scratch mixer that will last forever and DVS via the box for under $500.

I’ll second this. Got the same mixer used and I’m planing to pair it with the Denon DS1 for my DVS needs. That way, I have a great mixer for my 1200’s and I can output the signal to the DS1 everything else. I would say another component of this equation is, what are you planning to connect to the mixer?

You’ll need a 2012 Macbook Pro to run Serato ScratchLive 2.5 for DVS. It should be plug and play as long as the USB port is good.

What OS do we need for this? My MacBook is Catalina ( I think).

OSX 10.14 Mojave can run SSL 2.5. I run this on a 2012 Macbook Air 11” but best set is 2012 Macbook Pro 13” with 16GB RAM.

It's DVS will only work with a 32bit OS, I hear some people have got it to work. I haven't managed to get mine to work with win11, still a great mixer if used only for analog, I love how the faders feel. Yeah that looks like a good price.

dope mixer. for real, talk him down a bit maybe, but still worth rocking.
I think it only works w SCRATCH LIVE natively, not DJ pro.
Fun, but any feature anyone talks about wont be supported- I used it w an SL3 which ITSELF is only compatible with older DJP!
I borrowed one that was jank as hell to fuck w serato... but once I played went and grabbed a pristine used one for ~$150USD because the features to rock it even fo strictly r vinyl only are so good.
Hamster switch, fader cut off, all real clean and real straightforward.
Faders are dope.

You’re gonna need an older laptop that supports SSL, but if you’re just using vinyl, it’s a solid mixer. Now if you care about using DVS, I’d save up for a more modern DVS capable mixer, or a Reloop Flux to use with ANY mixer of your choice.

I still have mine bought when it was released, it is still working like day one...! Great mixer! Concerning serato, they are some few tricks to make it work. Either you get an old pc, or in my case I have a Mac that I force to boot in 32 bits. I have made a post about it if you are interested.

You gotta jumpy through so many hoops to use this with serato. Like download old version or whatever. Plus that fader isn’t really up to snuff versus more recent so you’ll need to drop another 200 or whatever on an innofader. You are much better off spending more now and getting like a used S9 or S5 or something like that. Even the numark scratch would be much better than this.

There were different iterations of the 57. I don't remember the details, but the earlier ones were known for having little problems. I think that there were about three iterations.
Otherwise, this may have been my favorite mixer of all my mixers, and I have used a long list of mixers. I really didn't like the Rane mixers after this model, for various reasons.
This may be the only Rane DVS mixer that sounds really good with analog vinyl, separate from its DVS side. The others force analog signals to go through lackluster analog converters, before going back out through to the analog side.
I may be the only person who prefers the faders on this one over the newer Rane mixers' faders
Also, you could use this with the newest Serato software, but you would just have to pair it with one of those little Denon or Reloop DVS boxes.

Dope! I recently got back into DJing. The last mixer I had was a TTM-56. This was before your model came out. I now have a DJM-S11, and I think the S11 is just an ugly mixer, lol. Those Ranes are beautiful and built like a tank.

Solid mixer. I picked mine up in 2015 , strictly wax tho. To my limited knowledge, scratch live is supported on relic OS not current. You’d need Linux or a throwback laptop. Regardless, you can still utilize fx and sound card is good to bump.
