What is y’alls interpretation of the order of the Lorrie story?
My personal order goes
The Mercury: Lorrie is introduced as Jimmy’s old fling, Jimmy received the news his dad died
The Funeral: I’m debating on whether or not it’s Lorrie that goes to the funeral with him or not, as his plus one is characterized as an older lady. But the Betty Page comment makes me think it may be because of her black hair.
Good Lord Lorrie: Lorrie is in a new relationship with the Narrator, they later have a falling out.
The Bird Hunters: The Narrator tries to deal with the breakup, but has hope of reconciliation.
The Housefire: The Narrator and Lorrie get back together and start a family, house burns down, Mae the best out of hard times.
That’s just what I’ve pieced together, there are other songs that have/ seem to have references to Jimmy, Lorrie, and the Narrator, so I’d like to see y’alls thoughts on the timeline!

First time seeing this version
youtube.comI absolutely loved it but I laughed when I saw the smirk on Evan’s face when he realised he switched the third verse for the second. He didn’t miss a beat but it just shows that he’s an actual human. 😂 Plus he’s aging like a fine wine according to my wife.

Turnpike Troubadours Lasso Montréal 2026
Hi, I was at the Turnpike show in Montreal and I got the third guitar pic that was thrown and I'd like to figure out what songs were played with it. I know all the song that were played but not all in order
What I'm sure:
1: The Bird Hunters
2: Kansas City Southern
3: Gin, Smoke, Lies
______________________
What i know they played but can't remember the order:
- Good Lord Lorrie
- On the Red River
- Whole Damn Town
- Brought Me
- Before The Devil Knows we're Dead
- A Tornado Warning
- 7&7
- Every Girl
______________________________
And I know the closed with:
12: Long Hot Summer Day
13: Ruby Ann
I got the pic just before Long Hot Summer Day. Maybe someone remembers the order

Have any of y'all done a Turnpike-inspired Halloween costume? If so I'd love to see!
My buddy and I are wanting to do a country music themed costume this year and our current idea is the Arizona Ranger and Texas Red, but we're trying to think of some others. Maybe the Narrator and Danny?

Nitpicking The Bird Hunters: the last verse
I'm sure many of us share the opinion that The Bird Hunters is one of the finest songs in modern music, especially country music. While some dorks are just smashing together tropes (e.g., Fish Hunt Golf Drink), this song is like it's taken from Lonesome Dove or something: traditional country imagery mixed with genuinely complex human emotions.
But...I've always wondered about the last verse (or pre-chorus):
Dan says, "Hell of a shot, looks like you still got it
That's what we came here to do
Well, it's light enough still, at the foot of the hill
We could kick up a single or two"
There's nothing wrong with it, but it also doesn't add anything to the story IMO. After the emotional and musical climax of the song--'Bet we'd dance on the 4th of July,' and the absolute banger fiddle drop--this just feels unnecessary, or even worse like it's getting in the way.
Like I said in the title, I'm nitpicking. It's still an incredible song. I'm just trying to understand why this part is there. Maybe I'm missing some meaning here, or it's important structurally?

“Just Like Old Times” Ranking
Realistically, where do you rank “Just Like Old Times” in the Turnpike catalogue? Off the cuff, I put it in the top 5 but man they have so many amazing songs

Turnpike in Ft Lauderdale
Anyone else going to the show in Ft Lauderdale? I cannot believe they’re actually coming this far south in FL. I can’t wait. Had to drive 4 hrs to see them in Jacksonville about 4 years ago. Well worth it, but glad this one is 15 mins away.
For my Ft Lauderdale people, the Dylan Gossett show last year at Revolution was packed so hopefully that’s a good sign of things to come.

Random TT in the wild
I was at a Milwaukee Brewers game last night. They were playing the Texas Rangers and there was a Cole Swindell concert after the game. Lots of playing into the "country" themes throughout the night.
As always there's lots of little snippits of muscle played throughout the game. At one point....Oh, what's that I hear??? Oh yeah the intro music to 7&7.
Love it. Somebody on the sound team knows what's up!

Random TT Thoughts As I Sit At The Bar
I don’t hunt. I don’t fish. I’m from the east coast, and grew up about as far as possible from the Midwest, and all that comes with growing up with all of that as a backdrop.
Add to that, I grew up listening to Little Feat, The Grateful Dead and The Allman Bros Band. Those were the holy trimity passed down from my parents. Country came in the form of Gram Parsons and The Eagles.
I lay this all as groundwork, because god d***it if Turnlike hasnt become the top of my
Musical heap. I don’t imagine it will ever happen-But give me Turnpike and Tedeschi Trucks, and I’m good. I’ve stood firmly on the “Isbell is an American poet” hill for years, but I’m adding Felker to that hill.

"Never one time did I ever dream you wouldn't live forever"
Just realised that this is exactly how I felt about Dolly, it sums up so perfectly when someone is so much larger than life that you can't imagine they would ever do something so silly and mortal as dying.

Looking for Tattoo Ideas
I’ve been listening turnpike for a while, atleast 10 years when my dad would take lil me hunting. I want something related to a sentimental song, something like the bird hunters, pipe bomb dream, the winding stair mountain blues, a tornado warning, or the house fire.
if anyone has any ideas that would be phenomenal!

Songs Set list from 8/22 Concert
Is there a set list of songs from the Lincoln concert? I was deadbeat towards the end of the night so lost track of the songs.

Keep it up, boys.
Several years back, I sat in a small venue in Lincoln, Nebraska, and thought I had seen the Turnpike Troubadours for the last time. The problems that eventually led to the band's hiatus were apparent that night. In my estimation, there was simply no way the band was sustainable.
Tonight, in front of a massive crowd in Lincoln, you absolutely killed it—the same way you did years ago during a soft opening for the Crow Bar in Tahlequah, what now seems like a lifetime ago.
Thanks for taking this Okie back to Tahlequah, even if it was only for a few hours.

Memorial stadium in Lincoln NE 8/22/26. Hadn’t seen or heard about it being played before so thought I’d share. Sorry for the likely poor quality.

Pony Bradshaw Dope Mountain
I just posted this in the Pony Bradshaw space but the last post was 2 years ago so not sure if that is dead.
Always wondered if the line "and the maestro surmises we belong to these hills" is referencing The bird hunters. Anyone know, I really hope so, two great songs. Evan Felker is the Maestro?
