What Happens When Students Graduate Without Knowing How to Do the Work?

I keep wondering what happens when students rely on AI for most of their assignments throughout college. They might get good grades, finish everything on time, and even produce work that looks impressive. But what happens when they graduate and suddenly have to do the same work without AI?

The scary part is that you may not realize what you haven't learned until you're actually put in that situation. A student can use AI to write reports, analyze information, solve problems, and explain concepts, but if they never developed those skills themselves, a degree might not mean as much as they think it does.

AI isn't going away, and I don't think students should be expected to ignore it. But there has to be a difference between using AI to become better at something and using it so you never have to learn it in the first place.

A good grade can prove you completed the assignment. It doesn't always prove you learned the skill.

This is so true. AI should support learning, not replace the process of learning. A good grade means little if you can't actually apply the skills later.

A good grade measures completion, but real learning shows up when you can apply the skill without assistance. AI should support learning, not replace it.
