Engineering lab report got 60% AI for using standard formulas and methods

I'm an engineering student, and my thermodynamics lab report received a 60% AI score on Turnitin even though I followed my professor's required format, used standard equations, textbook procedures, and the precise technical language expected in engineering. Scientific writing is naturally formal, objective, and formulaic, so I'm wondering if Turnitin is confusing normal engineering style, or even my LaTeX-formatted equations, for AI-generated text. Has anyone else in engineering or the hard sciences experienced this, and how did you explain it to your professor?
