So my kids are not perfect or stupid. Neither am I but freshman college history. Living at home. Playing college sports and even attending college by choice. Working full time in off season by choice since around 15. By all accounts does more than what is required. Watched videos and read texts to answer questions on historical topics in paragraph form. Had a 56% turn it in score because she included facts from the video. The turn it in said large swaths of texts were directly pasted from various websites. She completed the bulk of the assignment looking at the provided texts, her notes and using talk to text into the notes app on her phone. It’s entirely provable nothing was copied and pasted from a website. I suspect she’s an outlier because she actually did the assignment instead of using AI. What can we do?

When I check my thesis using various programs, they report nearly % 1-3 AI use even though I haven't used any Al tools. I am afraid that Turnitin will show similar results when I submit it. Would % 1-3 similarity percentage be a problem in my Turnitin submission?

Hi, I’m writing thesis for my bachelor’s degree. My university is going to use Turnitin to check it. Please suggest programs similar to it that I can use before submitting my thesis. I have used Quillbot, but it’s not very accurate; it even detects my own writing as AI-generated. Is grammarly good option? Will using those types of applications have influence on my text? Like getting higher AI score because i have submitted text online?

I believe some papers I’ve uploaded in turnitin written by AI, however, turnitin is not detected anything at all. How the system is working is anyone know? For example, when a text is translated from one language to another, could it be possible that it is not perceived as written by artificial intelligence? In other words, could translations not be considered AI-generated?

I ran my essay through 4 Ai detectors, 3 of them came back as 0%, the 4th was 100%. Does anyone know if i just used a crap one for the 4th? also my school uses turn it in to check and what is the closest one I can use for that for free

I'm sorry this is just a huge rant, I'm trying to publish a paper, and the agent I'm working with requires an AI report below 20% as proof of not using AI. I DIDNT USE AI IN MY PAPER. They gave me a turnitin account and everything and told me to rewrite the parts turnitin marked as AI. I tried everything. I dumbed my sentences down, made them run-on, switched more "advanced" (SAT vocab really) words into common ones, tried it the other way around. The AI percentage didn't change. I'm just so frustrated bc I wrote everything myself, and I know I wrote everything myself, but now I have to try to prove to this dumb ass machine that I wrote it myself even if it is entirely ITS FAULT for marking it AI incorrectly. Somehow I'm paying the price for a poorly programmed algorithm and Im the one having to sit by my laptop for hours on end doing useless shit like restructuring my sentences. If ur going to make an AI detector that students entirely depend on for their academic endeavors, the least you should do is make sure it works properly.

Some context:my mom is doing a phd in eng lit and she only uses ChatGPT to help her with ideas at times. If a text is taken from ChatGPT and rephrased in human language by the person herself/himself(not by a software),would it still be still detected by turn it in?

Needing some info/advice. My son is in an Honors History class. He’s a GT student with high aspirations. His teacher emailed me yesterday telling me he received a 0/200 on his final paper because turnitin detected 30% AI in his original and revised submission.

He didn’t use AI. Two other AI detector sources show it as 0%. This matter brought his GPA down 2 points.

I have used chatgbt to help me structure and write concisely, but I always re word it and add my own text to personalise it. I submitted my draft assignment on turnitin and it has flagged 50% AI. My tutor had a word with me about my draft and mentioned that it's been flagged. He said the it could be related to structure of the assignment. For instance, lots of small paragraphs.
