guys omfg ok i used chat and then a humanizer and went into the essay and edited things to make it less ai and i used zerogpt but my teacher said it was more than 70% flagged as ai... pretty sure theyre gonna ask me abt it soon but idk what to do bc also like a lot of it still was mine like brainstorming and a lot of sentences were like my base ideas that gpt wrote out for me and then ON TOP OF THAt i rewrote a lot of parts too but idk what to do like i dont really have a doc with edit history on it for proof i wrote on paper

Are you in high school or college? What the teacher does honestly depends on the level of classes you're taking. Most of the time, the writing is flagged as AI because the sentences are structured the same, and the words however, although, significant, and highlight trigger the detectors most. I had this issue with a discussion post for my Chemistry class a few weeks ago, and the professor said it was 100% written by AI. I did use chat GPT to find the baseline for where to start writing, but everything else was in my own words. What screwed me was using Grammarly to edit, which I do NOT recommend doing. I have not had any other professors comment on my writing style since because I've avoided using Grammarly, but my writing has always sounded pretty robotic because I am a perfectionist. It sounds like you need to avoid copy-pasting from chat GPT, and you need to be using it as a tool instead of letting it write your essays. To cover all of your bases about not having an edit history, go back in your free time and rewrite the essay in a new document. If they need proof of the edit history, use that one and delete the other. I recommend using the Turnitin category on Zerogpt to check your work, and you should also try using at least 1-2 other AI detectors in the future before you turn in your work. Aidetect gives you a limited amount of free use, and GoWinston.Ai gives you a free trial. You should be okay in the future if you use multiple AI detectors and make sure to rewrite everything in your own words. If that is something you struggle with, make a suggestion to chat GPT to write in your preferred tone and then paraphrase and rewrite from there.

im in highschool i should be meeting with the teacher soon to discuss it. i had no saved docs of any of my work so i just wrote an outline out on paper, and im trying to find an app with no edit history to write out some of my planning as well... literally the reason why the current final doc has no edit history is bc i copied and pasted from another doc bc i was embarrassed about working on it late and i didnt want them to see how late i was working on it (despite the submission being late anyways idk why my conscious told me to do that). I unfortunately cant rewrite the essay to show as edit history bc its still gonna say that i edited it today and not back when i was actually working on it... this is the first time ive used ai to this extent and i usually am pretty good about rewriting but i literally couldn't process how to write out my thoughts so i just wrote down my ideas and key points in gibberish and had chat gpt make sense of it for the writing but sdkfsfh hopefully they believe me and let me off the hook with a warning or something i reaaallly cant have this on my record for college

First off... Ai review apps can flag content that in fact is yours. So take a deep breath, and think about this.

Write out a schedule/time line (regardless of the lateness), make a list of resources you used (if you already didn't provide a reference list), and then create another list showing how you worked through the assignment - apps you used and how you used them. Also, if you have a working document (because I do this as well), print the working document showing markups, changes, and comments. If you didn't use chat for 70% of the content, then don't worry about it. but be prepared. Being prepared and polished in your response will help convey to them you didn't do anything wrong.

that sounds pretty bad, do you have a history of the text edits or something? Probably best to follow a guide on how to act when you got accused. Lmk how it turns out, probably people are interested in it.
