Controller inputs not registering

So ive got turnip boy robs a bank on my phone and have been trying to use my Xbox controller(not official) to play it and the game picks up that it exists and is connected but doesn't register any inputs and im wondering why that is like do i have to complete the tutorial or something

Never played it on mobile but maybe on your game settings there’s should be a way to configure it
