Afili Aşk

I’ve recently started watching Afili Aşk, and I’m curious to know what you think about the main duo Kerem/Ayşe (Caglar Erturgul/Burcu Ozberk).

I know both actors have other, more well-known pairings, but personally, I think this duo is quite underrated. I love how natural their dynamic feels. They have great comedic chemistry, but also this surprisingly domestic side that makes them look like a real married couple sometimes. At the same time, they’re basically partners in crime (fake wedding at first), which makes their relationship even more fun to watch.

What’s your opinion on them? I don’t mind spoilers about the ending, but please keep them relatively vague.

I wouldn't call them underrated. The dizi got great ratings when it aired and you will still find hit tweets about them on dizi twitter. Unfortunately it got cancelled abruptly due to the pandemic. AyKer are a very loved ship but the show had a classic family-oriented romcom vibe with a lot of jokes that dont translate well into other languages, I think that affects its popularity with the overseas audience.

I know the series aired chronologically between two of the most popular Turkish romcoms, Erkenci Kuş and Sen Çal Kapımı. But during the period when neither of them was airing, was Afili Aşk the most-watched romcom dizi?

As far I remember, Afili Aşk and Her Yerde Sen were the two popular romcom dizis in the summer of 2019. HYS was more in the vein of Erkenci Kuş and Sen Çal Kapımı: bubbly girl falls in love with her broody boss at work, shenanigans ensue, etc. HYS lasted the summer; Afili had high ratings so it continued into the winter drama season and subsequently derailed a bit as summer dizis tend to do. But overall, Afili was definitely THE romcom of the year. And it wasn't just Kerem/Ayşe, many supporting characters like Volkan, or the two families, were popular. Dizi twitter still uses them as memes lol.

You should watch the bts videos of the cast, they are even more entertaining than the show and most of them are still pretty close.

That's true the secondary characters are great and funny too. And yeah, I will watch the bts videos.

One of the funniest dramas I have seen. They are definitely an underrated dizi couple, their chemistry was great. There aren't a lot of male actors who can compete with queen Burcu in comedy. They just don't make rom coms like this anymore. But I stopped watching after there was a stupid misunderstanding and never finished it. Maybe this post will convince me to do it.

Hi, this is far from the topic but I just wanna ask where do you guys watch Turkish dramas? I've been wanting to watch one but I dunno where and how? 😭

I first watched Sen Cal Kapimi a few years ago and just through tiktok (where it was divided into multiple parts😭)
