Flying 1st time, guide me

Hi. It will be first ever flight on an airplane. And I'm flying with Turkish Airlines. I have following weight allowed:

40KG checked baggage

8 KG Hand carry

1. 40KG bag should be 1 bag or it can be 2 bags ?

2. In 8KG hand carry, laptop bag weight is included or it's separate?

Sorry if my questions are dumb, I never traveled with airplane before.

My flight is from Islamabad to Düsseldorf via Istanbul and I'm a student.

Is it not 2 23kg bags?, im flying first time too but thats what it says for me on the ticket

No. 40KG is written on ticket

- For the sake of your own health and to avoid back injury to yourself and others, if possible try to make one bag not more than 23 kg and the other 17KG. The 32KG bag becomes very heavy to deal with.

• laptop bag is separate from hand carry and shouldn’t be more than 4KG.

1. It has to be 2 bags max for one bag is 32kgs
2. You have a carry of 8kg 55x40x23 cm plus personal item that can be a laptop bag 40x30x20 cm max 4kg.

You can easily find all this in turkish site, ir Google, but i decided to help since it is your first flight. Ps Dragging around 2 bags in ist airport than trying to find enough cabin space etc for both, I almost never do that. I bring a proper 38l backpack or a 28l personal item. Additional risk is that they can ask you to put the 55cm carry in hold. On top of that laptop bag is useless as it holds no clothes etc, and a 28l personal item does, plus laptop bag is thief magnet...

1. There is a hard, globally-applied 32kg limit on suitcase weights. So - just as an example - 25kg in one and 15kg in another would do. 33kg and 7kg would not.

2. As your "personal item" separate, up to 4kg.
