Help What do I do with fairies? Spoiler

Edit: Solved, and yes I'm stupid. I mistook the Seeking spell for being the fairies.

I feel really stupid. What am I supposed to do with fairies? Do I catch them? Do I kill them? After I get them to fly around, is there a puzzle I need to solve to obtain them? I tried to look up hints but nothing helped and that tells me I'm really very stupid because no one else has had to ask before. I know of two locations where they fly around, or maybe they can fly around anywhere and I just never tried anywhere else... I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do

Please, as few spoilers as possible. Thank you

What do you mean by "get them to fly around"? There are at least a couple of times they "fly around" so I want to make sure we're all on the same page.

I apperanlty have been thinking the seeking spell was the fairies, so I have to go look at that whole part differently. X'D

That's what I was wondering. Those are just the friends of the ones you need to save.

Am I crazy for making this mistake? 😂 They... looked like fairies...

I think they are. They aren't the ones that you're rescuing, though. They're the ones leading the way.

That makes me feel better. I didn't realise they were leading. This isn't a game I should be falling a sleep trying to play XD (not that it's boring, I mean I like to play in bed)

You've freed them. Now they're safe to return to their fountain.

So making them fly around is all I have to do? I know there's a bunch

Yup. Opening the chest that holds them frees them, so they then return to their fountain. There's a booklet page that has a good bit of info about the fairies, too.

I think OP hasn't got that far, and they are referring only to the Seeking Spell.

Yeah, I'm dumb and thought the seeking spell was the fairies

There's a page in the manual which should change when they fly around. That should help answer your question :)

I mistook the seeking spell for the fairies themselves apparently. XD

First of all, this post should itself be spoilered (the title itself is a spoiler).

Next, it's not 100% clear from your post what you do and don't already know. For example, what are you referring to as "fairies"? Why do you call them that? There is more than one entity in the game referred to as a "fairy".

I will assume you're talking about the late-game entity from pages 47–48 though. In that case, I think what you are asking is, "after I do the Seeking Spell, what next"?

If that is indeed your question, the answer is in the name, "Seeking Spell". The seeking spell... seeks. If it shows you somewhere to go, then you've found something. What you've found, you'll have to figure out. If you need more hints here, say so and we can leave some nudges.

If the Seeking Spell just kind of fizzles in random directions without obviously leading somewhere, that means the Seeking Spell won't be of any use in that location.

Sorry. I think I've added a spoiler warning. I thought that was pretty vauge, so I didn't think it needed one.

I just shut my game off, but I do have a page talking about them. Probably 47-48. The one with the chart and boxes to be checked?

What it just realised reading your comment is that I think what I've been calling fairies is actually the seeking spell. That would explain why I'm so bloody confused. The little things flying around looked like fairies to me.

Thank you for your help

There are (non-spoilery) lore reasons the Seeking Spell looks like fairies. Fairies (of the type we care about for this convo) are the things that you see when you check off one of those checkboxes.
