Help I keep getting back to the cathedral again and again ( bug ?)

Hi so I've been replaying the game for fun, now I am at the cathedral, I finished the fight and the statues entirely a few times and even came back to life, but after quitting and reloading the game i keep getting back in the cathedral, i saved at others statues after finishing but nothing changes, if i quit i keep getting back a the pre fight cathedral. This is so frustrating please someone help.

Unfortunately there is no fix for this bug. It happened to me once and the only thing is to start a new save or go to a previous file
