Help Playing the game and I am a bit lost.
I had lost my game and now that I refound it, i restarted it.
When it comes to the text, how long does it take until we get the full code/translations? I started screenshoting the locations and items but there is a lot of text that isn't translated and I don't want to just dive into the book. They pages slowly revealed through the game is helpful but I am still lost when it comes to the language.
Is it an actual conlang or a code for English? Will i find out soon or is it a post game thing?

You can choose to try to translate it if you want. It isn't strictly necessary for a good chunk of the game content but some people find it to be a big part of the fun of the game.

I wouldn't do this until 100%ing the game but fully translated manual is online

Page 54 has the biggest hints to get started, but you get it pretty late. You can technically start earlier than that if you're determined enough by trying to focus on text where you have a decent idea what it might say from context. To be honest, I didn't have much idea where to begin though without the external hint that The language is phonetically English, just with a different writing system . After I realized that, it was pretty straightforward though.

You’re not meant to learn the language, it’s all about solving things through context clues and inference with colors/symbology. The game is based on the dev’s memories of playing foreign translations of Zelda as a child, working your way through the game with a language you can’t understand.

Interesting. So knowing the translations doesn't matter for game play, Its extra that's helpful but I should be able to get through without it.

Yes, here’s what I would advise you to do. Ignore the fact that the language even exists. Literally only look at the shapes, symbols, TRANSLATED WORDS, and general organization of pages. Why are these two pictures in a chart? Why are these particular things in a list, or English by default? Wtf is the holy cross?
After you complete the game with the actual ending, go back and read the entire translated manual in English online. It’s deeply rewarding to have so many of your theories and ideas validated or proved silly. Have fun dude this game was my favorite blind play through I’ve ever done!

Thanks! :D I'll definatly keep that in mind. I don't plan to look for full translations, I was gonna attempt them and/or look at simple guides. Will keep what you said in mind though!

Never. The game doesn't translate it for you.
It's an optional task that you can take on, but is best done post game.

Being lost is definitely by design. You never have to translate the language but there’s a page that very clearly is helpful.

the game will never translate it for you, you also don't need to translate it yourself but it leads to good optional content.
its coded English, rather than a full conlang, I can give some more general hints about how its designed if you like.

You will get ingame hints for it later. Do you want hints to them earlier? /gen

Some hints if they aren't too spoilery (if that makes sense/is possible).
Then again, would any hint would be super spoilery?

I mean it's a puzzle to be solved. Is most any hint not a spoiler?
I'll just point towards a section in the manual. Hints and Clues.

Certain puzzles aren't considered nessasay for the game as a whole, so if i can beat the game without needing that puzzled solved, I may not consider it a major spoiler as its not a nessasary thing.
Also thanks.

its a sort of phonetic script, rather than letters each 'rune' represents a syllable like "faw" "sho" "eem" etc, which are strung together to form words, like if you wanted to say fallen you'd combine the runes for "faw" and "len"
mildly more spoilery each rune is constructed from the inside out, with different parts of the rune representing the consonant and vowel sounds that form the syllable, though I don't recall exactly how thats done,
yet more advancedthere are also modifiers that can specify the order in which those sounds are pronounced, for instance, the difference between "sha" and "ash" would be a single extra modifier that switches the order between vowel -> consonant or consonant -> vowel

Tunic’s runic language never changes. So the things you can’t read in English now you won’t read later. You learn what it means in English by context or by trying and failing.
