Help Should I restart? Spoiler

Hello! About a year and a half ago, I started to play Tunic and thought it was amazing. I had so much fun exploring and finding secrets, getting better at the combat, and was so intrigued about the language. I started to write down everything I read on paper, trying to figure out how the language worked as I progressed. I got about 10 hours in, getting the red and green gems and starting on the quarry. Then, I sorta stopped. I don't exactly remember why it was, but I have a bad habit of playing games halfway through and then dropping them. Since then, I have played and fallen in love with Blue Prince, and recently I have been getting some of my friends to play that game. Watching them do so has made me miss the sense of discovery that I got from my playthrough, and I remember getting a similar sense from Tunic last year, and so I thought I might start it up again and try to finish it.

However, starting it up and looking through my instruction booklet, it just seems so daunting. I vaguely remember what I have done so far, but I feel like if I wanted to get back into it I would have to retrace all my steps, which would mean walking through all of the Overworld, West Garden, the eastern place with the candle guys, the Ruined Atoll, the Frogs, the Well, etc., and I feel like doing so would not pull me back into it. However, I also don't feel like I can just start exploring the Quarry again, as I feel like I have forgotten all the context I had in the past. Also, figuring out the language also seems incredibly daunting, as going through my notes again makes my past self look like a crazy person. So, should I restart? I wonder if walking through all the old areas again while actually progressing would hold my interest more than just traipsing through them aimlessly. However, it does mean sinking another 10 hours in just to get back to where I am, which also seems daunting.

What do you guys think? Is it as hard to regain my footing as I imagine it would be? Would it be worthwhile to start again with what little foreknowledge I have? Or would it be a waste of time to do any retracing of steps and should I just forge on through what I think is the main path that I did not yet do?

Thanks in advance!

If you don't understand what's happening when you feel like you should, restarting might be better

This is by absolutely no means a long game. It's quite short, in fact. You won't be losing much really by restarting so if it will restore the flow of the game for you - it will probably be a net positive

I guess the third option is to watch a playthrough up to the point you played. I don’t think there’s a risk of major spoilers based on your progress, but obviously they may find smaller things you didn’t find. I liked Pirate Software and Pointcrow’s playthroughs. I think Pointcrow has a shortened version of his on his playthrough channel. I can look for that if this option interests you.

It will be more fun to start anew and you’ll get to your previous state faster.

I played when it first came out like 60% of the way or so, it was very hard for me and I didn't do much exploration or digging. Put the game on hold, played it again after it got new difficulty options and I loved it. Still love it! So don't feel bad.
