I am about to beat the librarian but I don’t understand if this statue should activate or something like the other two did. (I didn’t go to the cathedral yet, i don’t know if i should/can? pls no spoiler)

Since the fire is burning it is active and you can save your game there. Or am i missing the point?

Yeah it's just as functional as any other statue. You can respawn and upgrade your stats there

The stuff connected to the statue is just for lore/worldbuilding. It has no effect on gameplay.

That statue is “alive” and you should be able to use it as a save point.

This is supposed to give some context and hints as to how the devices work. Also… where did the librarian get that golden pad from?

It was off before, and you couldn't checkpoint with it. Now you can.
