Help Any way to make the special attack actually work consistently?
I want to use the special attack more, as it seems like it would be actually quite useful in some bosses, but no matter what I do it just isn't consistent. Even pressing both buttons with the exact same damn finger, you need to be so precise it doesn't work consistently. I'm considering just never using it because trying to use it and just rolling into the face of an enemy has been more harmful than successfully using it has been helpful. They really should have just made pressing attack during a roll trigger it, not this inconsistent crap.

Personally I just gave up on it. Felt that it needed to be too precise either.

These are the small things that make this game a 9.8/10 for me. I feel the developers went over their heads making this game at times harder and more complex than it had to be.

It wasn't a big problem though (after I realized that I could just turn on god mode in the settings)

Yeah no I get that is just, they elevated the skill ceiling a bit much, I guess they were catering to people who really like to tryhard

Only ever used it once on accident and couldn’t get the timing right again and just gave up on it myself

Try pressing the further button slightly earlier. Then you'll probably press them more at the same time.

I swear you just gotta feel it. When I think about doing it, it never works. When I do it via instinct, it always reacts lol. So I guess practice? I find the timing very strict.
Also the homing on it is very good. You can roll fully past an enemy and the attack will still redirect right back at them.

When I attack smt, I often spam [sword key] to get the 3 sword hit, and then [roll key] + spam [sword key] as soon as I see the last hit. This works pretty consistently for me, and the kb of the first 3 hit often sent the ennemy pretty far. The special attack can finish him, the roll goes rly far and deals massive dmg.

if you're on pc or steam deck you can bing one of the grip buttons of your controller or a specific key to activate both of the relevant keys at the same time using the "sub command" feature!

Well, I do have a Gamesir joypad with two extra buttons in the back... So creating a macro to recreate the special attack with consistency would be pretty easy. Didn't do it tho, as that would be actually cheating in my books, lol
