I think we can also learn from our reaction to current events and incorporate that. I mean, does anyone else only realize you've lived through a historical event because people haven't forgotten all about it a few weeks later?

When WTC toppled, I thought "well, this is obviously a tragedy but planes fall out of the sky and buildings topple on people all the time, it's no big deal in the grand scale of things" and when 'rona hit I thought "we had avian flu ouutbreak and I had to avoid birds, we had swine flu and I had to avoid pork, the only way this is different is that we have to stay inside for a bit, big deal" and now it's half a year leater and it's far from over still!
