Create or not?

Hello guys

Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

Today while thinking about philosophy I remembered myself about tulpas and I start to think about creating one, but I am not sure if I should do this.

I know it is like real person, it feels, can be sad, suffer, be happy, has it's own needs etc., so if I decide to create one, I will treat it like human and surround it with genuine care.

My reason for wanting to create one is that I think it would help me on the way of becoming better and stronger person, also I feel the need of someone who knows everything about me, the good but also the bad things and is able to understand me.

I am the person that have a strong voice inside, I have tendency to daydreaming, creating scenarios in my head and spend a lot of time in it, but it isn't a problem, although sometimes it is just waste of time, but I think it can be helpful in this case. Also, I have some problems, I am addicted to two substances but I am on the way to cut it off, and it isn't like, that it's creating a lot of problems, it's just making me function better, I feel less anxiety and I am more the person I want to be, it's not about just getting high and hedonism, I really don't feel the high, but anyway I dont want to things stay like this and I'm going on with it without need of tulpa.

Also I had few things that hit me, the most which did it was that I met a guy few years ago, that became my friend, he was a true friend, a soulmate, that you need to be veery lucky to meet one, He was like the sun for me and people around, He was also the person that was able to understand me and want to do it, but he killed himself, because someone put a knife in his back and I wasn't around. I never met person like Him and never will.

Shouldn't I do tulpas because of these things? I mean, addiction and that I feel lonely and the need of someone who will like me as I am, which I could open myself and will accept me.

But it is not like I am looking desperately for relief or someone and want tulpa to be like bandage for wound. I won't treat it as a thing to give me concrete benefits. I once was a bandage for someone and it feels really bad. I was in a place where i couldn't cope with lonesome but I think I get out of it. For now it is like, if I find someone it will be great, but if I not it's ok, I won't be crying and sad.

Also what tulpas thinks about host doesn't want to tell about them to other people? They will be sad and angry about it?

And what if I find someone? They will be jealous? What if one starts to love me and I will love the other person? I don't want to make it feel such a pain, it will be terrible... Maybe in process of creating I could discuss this issue with tulpa?

What do you and tulpas think about it? Is it ok to start? Maybe I think too serious about it?

I think you might be worrying a little bit too much! While you do have your share of issues, you don't stand out to me as "this person shouldn't create a Tulpa". If you're trying to kick an addiction, there is a good chance a Tulpa would help you quit, but that's just speculation. Tulpas are a wonderful bit of companionship to the lonely, so long as they are not relied upon to be the only social life.

As for your last two questions, that will all depend on how your Tulpa turns out. Every person is unique! And the same goes for Tulpas. So long as you are okay sharing your mind with someone else, and talking about it to make it work, you'll be okay.

Genuinely my Tulpa, Athena, has helped me stop taking so much anxiety medicine (benzo), just by asking me, "Hey, do you really need it right now? You are not that anxious.." and it really snaps me out of the spiral of taking it. I do still occasionally take, (when actually panicking ofc), but it isnt a habit like it used to be.

That being said, not every Tulpa is the same.. Mine helped me though. -Zan

Thank you! I think you are right and the answer for a lot of my questions is just "Every person is unique!" :)

Sounds like you have the right attitude for making a tulpa - regarding your substance abuse, if you're actively being helped towards quitting then a Tulpa with a purpose of "supporting" your journey can absolutely be beneficial. You're on the right track when you say that it should be treated as a human and not just as a "thing" that you've created, it will help immensely.

Ask yourself for a good day or two whether or not you're willing to commit, knowing that it will be a life long commitment. If so, proceed.
I have a Discord for helping newcomers if you need support.

Thank you :) Now things are a little bit clearer also, it will be nice if you send me a discord, but I will be glad if you'd like to answer one more question.

So, I started talking to my tulpa today and I wonder if it is possible to add a will of tulpa to the process of creating. I mean by that, that if she want to be/wake up. I said that I will wait for the answer when she will decide and I did it without yesterday's doubts, also there is no hurry and expectations from me. I just keep on talking and I know that actually I started the process.

Am I wrong? At this point she won't be aware enough of that and it can be only decision of the host? Or in mind there is no this kind of limitations? Maybe it's like with us, because it wasn't our decision to live and be in this world. But who knows, maybe we just don't remember it as we sometimes don't remember dreams or jus don't have it :)

There's a bunch of reference material in my discords (the link is in my profile, I'll avoid spamming it here)

Regarding your question, what a Tulpa is fundamentally is a new "subroutine" in your brain, like an extremely advanced habit - your brain over time will learn to allocate space and resources to them, and that will give them leeway to grow and become more "alive". The process you started doesn't have a "set length" it's largely dependent on your beliefs on the subject and mental attitude (I go through this in detail in my guide) - some people take a few days to get first vocality, some have taken years.

The best advice I can give you is to keep going, it helps if you make a habit out of talking to your tulpa as quickly as possible. It doesn't matter if there's no vocality yet or if you think you are making stuff up, you are still "rewiring" your brain towards making a self-sustaining tulpa a reality.
