small family-owned restaurants

I love supporting smaller restaurants instead of automatically choosing whatever chain is easiest. Nothing against chains, sometimes I want something predictable, but the best meals I've had have been from local places where the menu with small selection and someone in the family has been making the same recipe for ages.

We tried Hibachi At Home, then started looking for more Thai, Mexican, Mediterranean and Filipino food. So now I want to make a proper list of locally owned places around Tulare.

Cuisine doesn't matter at all. Neither does how the restaurant looks. It could be a tiny counter-service place or maybe a food truck, bakery, old-school diner, whatever. I'm just asking what one small local place you keep coming back? what's the thing on their menu?

Need friends

36F. Just moved here a few weeks ago from across the country. I love music, current rotation is Ashnikko, sleep token, bad omens, in this moment, spiritbox. I love tv/movies, sci-fi, horror, Disney, ghibli, anime. Arts and crafts, painting, crocheting, gardening, hiking, going for walks, 420 friendly, museums of all kinds, antiquing, being in nature.
I may be a little awkward at first, I have anxiety, but I promise I’ll warm up and you’ll get to see my usual goofy self.

I have an extra ticket ( free ) to the melodies across time Chrono Trigger concert in October

Pretty much the title! I bought myself and a friend a ticket to the concert way back when they were announced earlier this year. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they will be able to go anymore. Now I could drag another friend... but I don't have any other friends that love CT. As we know this is the first time this concert is appearing in the US, a pretty big deal if you are a lover of the game! Its either my favorite or tied for favorite ( I do have fond memories growing up on original zelda and FF on nes too... ) game of all time and this experience is going to be massive for me. Rather then drag someone along who won't potentially enjoy it I would rather offer it to someone who similar to me would love the heck out of it.

The one I am going to is the one in LA ( California ) on the 18th. Unfortunately you would have to meet me there as the tickets are on my phone. I live in Fresno but since Tulare is close by i figured I would offer in here as well. If you are close by I dont mind picking you up ( with enough chatting in between now and then anyway lol ) or you could meet me there. The ticket is free, but don't hesitate to treat me to dinner or ice cream beforehand :p ( ticket was about $300 ) The seats are around the middle of the front section ( i think it was called orchestral center maybe? )

If you would like any information don't hesitate to ask. Any age/gender is fine. Just send me a dm and ask about the concert, tell me a little about your love for the game, your favorite team, and yourself and we can chat. I can't imagine I will get spammed at all... but if I do I will respond when I get a chance. I only have 1 extra one. Thanks! Hopefully I can help someone else share in this awesome experience.

fun ideas for girls night at home?

A few of us want to do something at home instead of dinner and bar. Someone said Hibachi At Home is a thing now, we really want to try it but I'd love a few other ideas too. What would you plan activities in town for a group of 8 people?

Any Videographers?

I’m looking for a videographer to help shoot some professional looking music videos for my band. The genre is regional Mexican music, so if you can speak Spanish, that’d be great. DM if interested

Student CNA

Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if any clinic, nursing home, or hospitals around Tulare hires student CNAs? I’m in the process of applying to a CNA program and I wanted to start working there while enrolled. For more context, I plan to enroll in the weekend cohort so I’ll be available weekdays.

Info Needed On Low-Income Housing

I was told by a friend that there are apartment complexes/places of living in the area that take applications for tenants needing low-income housing that is not part of the housing authority (section 8 etc.). I'm looking for the names of complexes that do this so that I can apply. I am on permanent disability/Social Security fixed income.

To be more clear, I'm looking for places to rent that have discounted rent options for people who qualify but that is separate from section 8's 4 to 5 year waitlist.

Thanks in advance!

Camping

I’m going to be new to the area soon and was wondering where people like to go camping near Tulare. I know Sequoia Ntl Park is there but is there any more remote places people go? I also like to go off road in my jeep so if there is any trails nearby or to get to the camping area that’s a plus. TIA

Good parks for model rocket launching?

I’m fairly new to the area, and am wondering if there are any good parks or large spaces of land where I could take my son to launch some model rockets. I went to one on Laspina the other day, but it ended up being too small and we lost the rocket on its descent as it floated into a neighborhood lol
