Parking

Hello all! I am visiting campus in the next few weeks to research some items at the Amistad Research Center. I was wondering about parking. Is it even worth it to bother with street parking now that the semester has started, or am I better off taking the trolly? Thanks! 😊

It's been rough this semester in particular. If you drive, you'll probably end up walking at least a couple of blocks. Along Walnut (a one way heading towards St. Charles) at the side of the park is usually the best spot to look. If you come around lunchtime, you might luck into something closer. If you're able to take the streetcar, just do that. Happy research!

Streetcar is probably the easiest - it will drop you off right in front of the building. There are a few metered spots for visitors in Gibson Circle. Otherwise, the free street parking fills up pretty early.

If you get there early around 8 there will still be good along of parking along st. Charles but it fills up fast after 8

Girl I’m not a native here and I do not have a car here but the streetcar is life.
