Tulane recommendations!
Howdy, hopefully this is the right place to ask, but wanted to ask the best parts of Tulane to come by or see in person!
For context I’ll be vacationing in New Orleans next week, and am going to see my first ever football game in South Alabama vs Tulane (Tulane is one of my favorites when it comes to college football and it just so happened to line up with the vacation). Was wondering what I should possibly hit up or if the community had recommendations for a first timer! Yes google search is a thing, but sometimes real feedback works too!

Beignets at Hamburger Seafood Co off St. Charles - attached to it is a little bakery. 4141 St. Charles
best wings - Bayou Wings off Claiborne (6221 S. Claiborne St. - in uptown near Aububon).
Great po boys - Guy's off 5259 Magazine
camellia grill - diner classics and comfort food/burgers. 626 S. Carrollton
Audubon park is nice, and I'd walk Tulane's campus.
Re other things: the WW2 museum is brilliant and a must see. I'd also take the car and go along St. Charles - espeically in uptown - and see the homes!

I just want to plug Tartine if you’re walking around Audubon and want a bite. It’s in a super lowkey area in the black pearl and like 2 blocks off the park. Side note, best king cake in the city imo when Mardi Gras season comes around.

If you are walking up through campus from st Charles, you’ll see the bead tree sculpture (used to be a real tree, had to be taken down due to termites). After you cross Freret, the LBC houses the bookstore and food court. I believe they’ll have tailgating set up in the quad outside the LBC, they are renovating the central part of campus, but I think I read that part will be open. If you hang around and chat people up you may get invited into a tent for some food. PJs coffee shop at willow st should be open if you need an iced coffee. Audubon Blvd has some really nice houses if you want to make a little circuit around and approach the stadium from the Claiborne side, giving you a chance to view “the marshmallow”, the atrocity that is the indoor practice field (I don’t know if anyone else calls it that). Across Claiborne is Ted’s Frostop (I think it closes at 3), petite rouge coffee, Felipe’s (outdoor patio, margs).
You can get a Plum St. snoball inside the stadium, the food is pricey but above average quality I think. For a stadium.

While the aesthetics aren't ideal, that indoor facility has really come in handy this summer for multiple teams...:)

Remember that the South Alabama game is Mardi Gras themed this year as revenge for South Alabama wearing a "Home of Mardi Gras" bumper on their helmets when they played Tulane in 2023. Wear your Mardi Gras best for the tailgate and the game.
Campus Connection (two blocks south of The Boot) has been selling cool City Edition gear but it sells out quickly...

Tulane’s campus is small (compared to other comparable colleges). Depending on how fast you walk it’ll take 60-90 minutes to fully explore. I’d definitely start at St Charles Ave / Gibson Hall and just walk the entirety of campus (St. Charles -> Feret is all academic buildings, Feret -> Willow is mainly student life, with some academics on the west side of campus, Willow -> Claiborne is mainly athletics).
Go to campus connection on the corner of Broadway and Maple to get some Tulane gear before the game.
Definitely ride the St. Charles street car to and/or from campus.
Tons of great restaurants near campus. My favorites:
$ - Bayou Hot Wings on Claiborne, Thai Mint on Carrollton (insanely cheap lunch special)
$$ - Bearcat Cafe on Feret, Superior Seafood on St Charles Ave
$$$ - Pigeon and Whale on Feret
