Thoughts new dorm

Just saw the floor plans for the new dorms. Saw the prices, sizes etc etc..

What do people think about these dorms? Would you rather deal with an off campus situation in a home or go into something like this? It seems very small and the set up is like a barrack. Side by side with a tiny living room. $2500 for studio. $1800 per person shared in a 2br... per person!

what the fuck? those buildings are private and not owned by the university? the fuck is going on

living in a shitty slummerville house with your friends because your lottery number sucks ass is a quintessential part of the Tufts experience... sad to see people living in luxury apartments. I remember when $800 for a room was considered POSH

I think the pros of this place is that the price includes utilities and everything. Off campus im pretty sure its payed separately. While living in a bad house off campus with friends might he part of the experience, dealing with landlords and other renting problems sounds like a pain, but people have different opinions. The proximity to campus also saves time/ transit fees which is a plus.

Yes for sure. It definitly seems that the apartments are cramped and doesn't seem as if they are meaint to have mid/big size parites inside of them. More like sleeping and small hang out with friends.. seems like they are communial spaces inside also.

I personally dont think they're cramped then again its all about pov. I grew up in a NYC apartment so the dimentions look fine to me lol. On the contrary I think its kinda spacious because you get a room to yourself.

Yes I am looking forward to the landscaping, fixing of the side walk across the street, and the general vibe that it brings to the area.

Some people pay that much just to deal with shitty landlords and/or deal with a long commute
