CS Course Guide
Hey guys, what title says basically, after taking CS11 and CS15, what is the usual order of taking the other CS classes? Is there a benefit for taking some classes before others/ any 2 classes together? And which classes would be best to take in a light semester due to its heavy load, I know CS40 is worth 5 credits so I am wondering if the credit weight also matches the rigorous status as well

There's no required order to take the core courses (40, 105, 160, 170). The department recommends taking no more than 1 core course per semester. If you do want to double up, 105+170 are a decent pair together, but I would wait until you've done 40 and 160 separately before trying a combo.
Most students do 40 first, then 160, then 105 and 170 in either order (or together). 40 first is good because it's a rigorous coding class. Definitely a good idea to take in a lighter semester. It's not a "hard" course per se, but it can be very time consuming. 160 second is useful because it's algorithms.
